  2. It took me 29.5 years to truly start reading. And once I didโ€”about six months agoโ€”there was no looking back. In l six months, Iโ€™ve read 18 books. Saying that out loud still feels unreal. Iโ€™ve listed them all, in order of how deeply they stayed with me. What I love most about reading is how it lets me pause everythingโ€”even my own lifeโ€”and step into someone elseโ€™s. I get to live inside their thoughts, their struggles, their choices. I try to understand their world and their perspective, even when itโ€™s uncomfortable. Across these 18 books, Iโ€™ve met countless characters. But two of themโ€”both from A Thousand Splendid Sunsโ€”are unforgettable. Laila and Mariam. Reading their story felt heavy in the quietest way. Their strength, their resilience, the love and sacrifice they carried in a world that gave them so littleโ€ฆ even thinking about them now brings tears instantly. Some stories donโ€™t leave youโ€”they settle somewhere deep inside you. Another thing Iโ€™ve grown to love is noticing how people underline their favourite lines in books. It always makes me pause and wonderโ€”why this line? what did it mean to them? Itโ€™s like briefly touching someone elseโ€™s inner world. This habit of reading has changed me. Thereโ€™s so much to learn when you truly read about people, their lives, and their stories. I never realised how deeply it would shape my thinking and my perspective on the world.   3. 18.30 seconds, and not 20 seconds. I know. 1.7 seconds short, which is both nothing and everything at the same time. But hereโ€™s the thing about progress - it doesnโ€™t care about round numbers. This is not the perfect handstand I have in my head, there are so many things off - my toes arenโ€™t pointed, alignment is not the best.
