  2. one year ago, I woke up to a call from my sister letting me know that our dad had unexpectedly passed away. full transparency, it doesn’t get easier with time, I just think you find ways to deal with it. if it’s taught me anything, it’s that heartache can bring positive lessons if you allow yourself to lean into them. you get one life, so stressing over little things is a complete waste of time. the people you love won’t be around forever, so call them. tell them you love them. spend quality time with them. be the bigger person and make the first move cause you’ve got nothing to lose. if there’s something you want, a career you want to try, a move you want to make, take the first step now. trust your gut and go for it. if I know my dad, he’s somewhere on the water right now with a bud in hand, his favorite music blasting, and he’s having a ball.

  3. end of an era : the final photos from my first apartment in southie → the move in day photo from my first apartment in southie probably seems like a dramatic post to make, but it’s a special one for me. i moved in at 24 years old, the same month i quit my corporate job and took the leap to go full time fitness. i had no clue if it would work out, i had no clue if id be able to pay rent each month, but i knew i was ready to give it my very best shot. it is the last chapter of my life that my dad will ever get to be part of (physically). he moved all my stuff into the same neighborhood his family was from, and was so excited you could see his favorite church, gate of heaven, from the rooftop. forever grateful to have shared that experience with him and for alllllll the g street memories ♡ onto the next chapter!
