Was talking to one of my partners last night about the past relationships we've had and how some of those people felt threatened by sexuality or controlling over what we could do with our bodies. I had a partner who deeply resented burlesque, was enraged by my interest in saucy modeling, had me crop my butt out of a pic before posting it, etc. At the time I felt like I had to make those concessions, that relationships meant compromise. When we inevitably split i feared that no one would love my publicly nekkid self. But now -many years later- I'm surrounded by love. My friends and partners not only accept but actively support my burlesque endeavors. My partners now put on burlesque shows *with me* and one of them took this photo. All I feel about it is gratitude.
