  2. I am delighted to announce 2 very big accomplishments this morning! First, this week I was promoted to Master Instructor @soulcycle!! I am filled with gratitude. This is a goal I have held since day 1. This leads me to my second announcement. November 30th will mark 9 years that I’ve been with SoulCycle! It’s my Souliversary :) I took a deep dive into Facebook this morning and was overwhelmed by memories of my original UWS and Scarsdale crew in New York, opening the SF and Palo studios here in the Bay, and my community down in SoCal. I wish I could adequately describe how grateful and happy I feel today. Working with SoulCycle has given me a life that I never could have imagined. Thank you for the many years of support.   3. If you’re reading this allow me to say thank you 🙏🏼 A week or two ago this little Instagram account hit a huge milestone! Honestly it completely blows my mind when I stop and think. Over ten thousand people have tuned in, and I would like to humbly express my gratitude. Thank you for every like, comment, share, save, and follow. Every time you tag a friend or tune into an IG Live it fills me up. When shelter in place began back in March and many of us were furloughed from our larger fitness employers, these daily posts gave me a sense of purpose. It was a way for me to stay connected with my @soulcycle community, but also an opportunity for me grow an even larger team motivated by leading full and healthy lives.   3. 📊Annual update on my fitness journey 2020 covid version. This year has been weird where there were a couple of months I was working out at home. Finally got back to my routine lately workout and take barrys bootcamp here and there. I did hit 188lbs so my goal next year will be 195-200 pounds :) 💪 🏋️ . . . . . . . . . Measurements - 2020  Chest - 39  7/8   (grew an inch) Shoulder broadness - 50.5 (grew an inch-ish) Right Arm relax - 14.5 flex 15.5 Left arm relaxed - 14 flex 15 1/8 Hips - 38.5 Right mid thigh - 22  Left mid thigh - 22.25 . . . . . . . . . . My goal for next year is to get 195lbs and 8-10% body fat. I still haven't hit 4 plates bench but definitely need to do it in 2021. WORK HARD. PUSH YOURSELF. STAY CONSISTENT. BE PATIENT.   2. Picture day – even after all these years in broadcast news – never gets old. But stepping in front of the camera for this headshot was different. Perhaps it was the pride I felt knowing that I had achieved my childhood dream of becoming a network correspondent. Or maybe it was a reminder of what I had been through, personally and professionally, to get to this very moment. I’ll never forget the professor who told me I didn’t have the look or voice to be an anchor, or the executive who said that using my last name on-air would ultimately keep me from advancing. And don’t even get me started on the hate mail and calls I’ve received throughout my journalism career telling me to go back to where I came from. Through it all, I’ve done my best to channel much of this pain into purpose. And now, as one of the few Asian American men on national television, it’s not lost on me that I have a unique opportunity to help amplify several communities that have fought so incredibly hard to be heard. Hopefully, I’ll be able to inspire another kid out there to dream big and do hard things. Thanks to those of you who have sent me messages of support as I’ve navigated this new role.   3. As the first-born son of immigrants, watching the news was our window to the world. It helped me explore what my life could be if I was willing to dream big. This morning, I was formally introduced as a national correspondent for @cnn, based out of Washington, DC, where I’ll travel and report for the network’s broadcast and digital platforms, and our 1,400+ Newsource affiliates across the globe. From my humble beginnings as a paperboy in my hometown, to becoming the first Vietnamese American man to anchor in a major U.S. television market, my news journey has been one for the books. There were setbacks along the way, but with the support of my incredible family, friends, and mentors, I was able to persevere and get to this very moment. Treasure Island’s first high-rise tower under way with 8,000 homes planned for new S.F. neighborhood For Bay Area residents who have been hearing about the redevelopment of Treasure Island for two decades — with little progress to show for it — it is easy to be somewhat skeptical about whether the project is actually happening. But a visit to the island leaves no doubt: The 400-acre former military base is teeming with activity. Between Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island, five projects are under construction and two are completed. When the $6 billion megaproject is complete — likely by 2036 — it will have 8,000 homes, 300,000 square feet of retail, 500 hotel rooms, and 300 acres of open space. Currently more housing is under construction on Treasure Island than anywhere in the Bay Area. There are now 975 housing units that have either been completed or are under construction. On a typical day, some 800 construction workers are on the job sites.
