  2. This body has changed many times so let’s talk about it. This is slightlyyyyy embarrassing to post because it’s in depth about my experience, so please be kind and remember I am human toooo :,) When I started my fitness journey I didn’t know where to begin, was constantly feeling disappointed in myself, and truthfully fell into a deep hole. This was a deep, unhealthy, and very uncomfortable time in my life. All I could think about was what I was eating, working out, and how it would affect my mood for the day. It obviously goes a lot deeper than this, but this isn’t a sob story. It’s so scary putting yourself out there and starting something new that you know nothing about. I constantly felt uncomfortable in my skin. I hated the way I looked, the way my body felt, and more importantly who I had become. There was a point in my life where I was working out simply for the idea of what I might look like in the future, who would be my friend if I was more attractive, and how my life would change based on my body changing. I know now that working out to simply “look better” isn’t and shouldn’t be the only goal you have in mind. Working out is about getting stronger. Working out is about taking care of the body you were given. Working out is about feeling good in your skin. Working out is about proving yourself wrong. Working out is about building endurance. Working out is about protecting yourself. Working out is about 100+ more things. Restriction is not what working out is about. The disappointment because you don’t look a certain way is not what working out is about. And most importantly, the number you see on the scale is not what working out is about. I’ve made idols out of things I didn’t even think possible, ANYTHING you put before the Lord is an idol. I’ve leaned very quickly that the Lord will take things away from you to remind you WHO gave it to you in the first place . It’s not bad to have nice things, it’s not bad to want relationships, jobs, money or anything material, however it becomes an issue when you desire those things more than a relationship with God. We put more effort into making money than making time for the Lord. We open up social media more than we open up our Bible. ANYTHING can be an idol. Ask yourself what’s something I put before the Lord, and be honest with yourself. I caught myself beginning to idolize social media and yet again… my physique. Personally, I found that idolizing something came from wanting external validation. I cared about things that made me look accomplished. They gave me earthly value. So I pray, “Lord even if I don’t have this thing, you are already more than enough. My worth is not defined in material objects, relationships, social status or physical attributes. I chose to put you above it all. Allow me to denounce these idols immediately, In Jesus name, Amen.”

A true forever home with our completed family of 7; a home that will get passed down to our children and their children.
