  3. A lot of times we speak about accomplishments that seem far-fetched at the moment.. too good to ever believe truth in it. But the real life manifests within the belief you put behind the words you speak.. and how often you speak those words not only into the Universe, but most importantly, into yourself! What makes this moment so special to me is that I used to Valet park cars on these same streets that Canal Place sits on. I looked up at this building plenty of nights and would envision myself having a reason to walk inside.   2. God commands his people in the scriptures to “forget the former things”, and not to dwell in the past. Why is the Lord against those dwelling on the past? Because doing so can cause us to get stuck in where we are. When our focus is on the past, It’s too easy for us to feel sorry for ourselves, or to focus on our regrets, or to think that our best days are behind us. Worst of all dwelling on our past can make us feel unthankful for all the blessings in our lives. Especially the blessings we have in the present. Jesus says in these two scriptures, Isaiah 43:18 -43:19; “See I am doing a new thing! now it springs up, Do you not perceive it?” If we put these two verses together, we see the Lord wants us to resist dwelling on the past, so that we can “PERCEIVE” the new thing he wants to do in our lives, he knows that if we are not receptive to the brand new things he’s about to do then we might delay our prevent them from coming to pass. Don’t miss the excitement that is in the Lord‘s voice within these verses. He knows that what he has in store for us is far better than anything we could EVER imagine!!   3. Today marks 2 full years since we were married at 8am on Mardi Gras morning. We said I do on the same corner we said I love you for the first time. We will forever actually celebrate our anniversary on Mardi Gras, but I wanted to take a moment today before the madness. This country seems to be fueled on hate and fear, for a nation that reports Christian values I feel as though we are being smothered by the opposite. Our life is so full of love. Our relationship is based on trust, care, love and mutual respect. I feel so lucky to live a life with a partner like mine. Kristin can probably deadlift more than your husband, she’s obsessed with learning, she remembers the lyrics to every nu-metal AND country song from the early 00s, she makes 80% of the meals I eat, she boils water to keep my bath hot when the hot water runs out, she’s beautiful, hardworking, goofy and she’s never met a stranger. Kristin loves and supports me endlessly and Mary’s Rack would not exist without her. I’m probably the luckiest girl in New Orleans and I’ll never forget it. Remember the haters can be so loud but even if they want to legislate away our marriage or gender identities we know the truth. We know the joy. We know who we are on a deep level and we plan on living loudly until death do us part. Huge thanks to our wedding photographer @kylamaddenphotography for stepping up to shoot our wedding! Roller Skating 🛼 Are you an outdoors lover? 🏝️🏕️🚴🏽‍♀️🚣🏽‍♀️🏄🏽‍♀️🧗‍♀️ Even if you’re not, I highly recommend grabbing your favorite earbuds (mine are @jrumzearwear of course!) lacing up some skates and enjoy a great workout in your favorite local park or neighborhood. Benefits ⤵️ Skating is not only fun, but it works the muscles of your hips and legs. Your glutes, quads, hamstrings, and calves will all get a good workout. Skating also gives your 🍑 a few unique advantages. Because the push off of the skate is not straight back but a bit out to the side, you’re more fully activating your gluteus maximus, whose function is to extend and laterally rotate the hip. Skating also challenges your balance and rely on the muscles of your core. Trying to stay in control on unstable wheels forces your midsection to stabilize, react, and adapt as you move ⚖️ Meanwhile, the muscles of your abdomen and lower back are at work in keeping you upright 🕴️ Next time you want to get some cardio in while having some fun. Consider roller skating!
