It can be painful at times especially during exercise and the look of it can really affect me mentally. I want to be fully informed before i make any decisions, so i’ve booked a consultation with a surgeon to discuss some surgical options. PIZZAAAA Couldn't be arsed tonight, honestly, I just wanted to sit down with a pint of tea and a packet of digestives for dinner, and to be honest, if I thought I'd enjoy it - I would have, but I know me quite well after 41 years. It wouldn't fill my soul with joy or my belly with food. After calling myself out for my obvious arseholery I dragged my arse to the kitchen and settled on pizza and chips. Now I know I could have used a million different HeB options for my "base" or even made one myself but I didn't, I knew what I wanted. I wanted a 9.5 syn Deli Kitchen Greek flatbread base so that's what I had. Topped it with a homemade pizza sauce, HeA cheese and some lovely red onion; sometimes simple is best innit? Look at Joey from Friends: point proven. 9.5 syns for a proper pizza vibe is an utter bargain, but if you're too much of a tight arse to use the syns; use whatever you want.... And then shove a twix down your face later, because you "got syns left". That'll mean you've eaten hundreds more calories than you would have done just eating the fucking flatbread but WHATEVER DEIRDRE, YOU DO YOU. Special mention for @angusandoink "Fries with That" seasoning - first time trying them and v impressed. Cheesy, bacony and made my Actifry chips a whole heap sexier. Syn wise, if you piled it on, you'd need to be mindful but we used 10g between us, which works out as a quarter of a syn... I inhale more than that walking past Gregg's. Calorie wise, 7 calories for 5g. IT'S GOOD. You can buy it, like I did, from their site😉. Apart from it burning my mouth off AGAIN tonight, I enjoyed it immensely. So, 9.5 syns, one HeA and approx 545 calories.   2. One pan chicken, chorizo and mozzarella orzo thingy. Sounds like I've strung random words together and hoped for the best, which is generally how I cook too. It's hit or miss. You're welcome. Also, I'll level with you, this is not tonight's dinner. Tonight, I've had a tuna mayo sarnie, because the "meh" continues and I still can't be bothered. This WAS dinner earlier in the week though and it was properly good, so judge me for my sarnie but still make it. Dead easy, minimal washing up and ready in about 15 mins. It's 👌🏻. This'll give you three portions my size. One chopped onion and red pepper fried till soft, 15 syns of chopped chorizo (how much you get will depend which brand you use, check the app), chucked in and then one diced chicken breast (we like ours cut quite finely) fried for a few mins too. Add in one clove of garlic (either finely grated or minced)and a tablespoon of tomato puree - stir around for a few mins. Add in a tablespoon of smoked paprika, a chicken stock cube or stock pot, 220g orzo (dry weight), a smattering of chilli flakes and then top up the pan with 650ml of boiling water. Let it all bubble together until the pasta is cooked and the majority of the liquid is gone. You might need to add a bit more water - don't get distracted or it'll be rubbish. You've been warned. When it's done, stir through some chunks of mozzarella, more on top and then put the lid on the pan till it all melts. FYI A wide deep saucepan is the best thing to use rather than a normal tall one you'd use for pasta. Tell you what, we'll be having it again. All in it was 5 syns, one HeA and approx 560 calories. Anyway, I'm off to scowl at a sunset.   3. HOLD ON TO YOUR PANTS PEOPLE, I PRESENT TO YOU: A HAM AND CHEESE ROLL. Oh come on, you’d moan if I was showing you complicated stuff all the time wouldn’t you? To be fair you moan when I don’t  too, so I can’t wait – HOOORAYYY FOR ME. I guess the only thing that might catch your eye on here is the coleslaw. I make my own and to be honest, what I dress it with changes like my pants but this time it was: white cabbage, carrots and onions mixed with a mix of reduced fat crème fraiche (1 tablespoon for one syn) Greek Fat Free yoghurt (free), a teaspoon of Dijon mustard (free) and a drizzle of vinegar from a jar of cornichons…. I know… random… but it worked. The cheese is a smoked cheddar for my HeA, the roll is my HeB (54g this time, clearly the runt of the bakery litter) and the ham is ALSO smoked. Not by me. I also fancied some apple, and no it wasn’t so I could point and say “look: speed”, its just because I fancied some apple. And I enjoyed it. So there. All in it was 360 calories. 10 OUT OF 10. I actually took this board and the number 3 to the beach club with me today as I was convinced 3 was our magic number. For many this drop in numbers is familiar territory but never gets easier! • On the plus side we still have two embryos that are growing at day 3🙏🏾🙏🏾 As agonising as today has been we have to take the good from today! 2 chances and 2 blessings still on the horizon 🙏🏾✨💫🤍 • For those not already aware - day 5 is the crucial day for embryos. Day 5 is said to be the stage where you have the best chance of success when transferring. They can also undergo chromosomal testing at day 5 and can be frozen. • Keep frighting and growing em babies 🙏🏾✨💫🩵🩷

  2. #mondaymotivation This is VERY uncomfortable to post but the reality of how I was. Stuck in a vicious cycle of unhealthy eating & no exercise. I get asked how do I have the motivation everyday, the answer is I don’t. We are human, you can’t feel motivated 100% all the time. In fact, motivation for me comes after a workout or once I’ve made myself do something I know will benefit me. It helps to plan ahead my exercise & food which is now part of my routine. There are numerous days when I don’t want to exercise or go outside! But I think of the feeling I’ll have after, there’s no such thing as regretting a workout! Don’t wait until you feel motivated if you’re wanting to make changes. Start now. Re-evaluate your eating habits, exercise, incorporate changes into your routine. Why wait till next week or next month when you can start tomorrow? The hardest part is starting. I started focusing on my calorie intake, increased my steps, started running (even though I couldn’t run). In July, I started weight training, HIIT with @courtneydblack & since then I’ve never looked back, I’ve built a routine that works for me which in turn motivates me. Do you tell yourself you can’t do it? Do you tell yourself you’ll never be fit, you’ll never be a runner, you’re not built like others so why bother to start? Do you make changes and give up after a month because you’re not what you want to look like? Do you tell yourself people will stare at you if you go for a run? I used to. WELL DON’T! YOU CAN DO IT. Forget about others. It’s your body. If you want to feel good about yourself then stop overthinking it, make those decisions, plan ahead and start tomorrow.   3. I am a medic. I cannot ‘un-train’ to ‘not see’ things as a medic would. So in the first few moments after my daughter was born, without even trying, I instantly saw that she had Down Syndrome. I saw the shape of her eyes, her thickened neck, her floppiness all before she was handed over to me. For about six weeks I saw these features first and then Eva. In fairness, I was processing the diagnosis and also making sure she gets the right medical support. Then. She smiled. At the age of 6weeks. After that day, I shifted my perspective. I saw only Eva. Her sass, her smiles, her cheekiness. I stopped using developmental timelines & simply celebrated her achievements when they came. Although it’s important and we make sure she gets the extra medical attention she needs, as a family her diagnosis is not really central to her being. It’s an additional factor, yes. But it’s not HER. We focus on Eva and amazing personality. We hope you can see children with Down Syndrome for their unique self rather than a medical label. ❤️ ** This is a simplified version of my journey with Eva.   3. I’ve debated sharing this, but it feels important 💕 Because behind every “before and after” photo is a story — and this is mine. My weight has always gone up and down since my 20s, and I think it’s safe to say I’ve tried every fad diet going 🙈 After having Ava, I really struggled with my body image. I felt unfit, low in energy and just not like me anymore. When I started with @lisahorsleycoaching, I’d lost most of the baby weight — but I still didn’t feel strong. Do you like to climb or do you just like the view? 🤔 🌅 (there is a point to this) The real question… are you willing to go through the struggle the pain the sacrifices or do you just like how it aesthetically looks? The outcome the end result is the easy part, it’s the obstacles the emotions the sacrifices that build the best results because if you can go through all the above you have truly earned it. 👏🏽 nothing in life is easy… Your marriage, your job, your family life don’t strive for perfection because it simply doesn’t exist. When you want to challenge yourself ask yourself ‘what pain are you willing to sustain’ see my point is you’re not allowed to stop climbing. The view will be twice as nice when you overcome everything that is supposed to stop you! Keep climbing 👏🏽🤍 A example of your climb might be putting weight on in 2025 to gain that extra muscle you want… you want the muscle but mentally going through the weight gain will be such a struggle when you are not used to your clothes becoming tighter or the scales going up… but when you get that final result you will be so proud of yourself for feeling the emotion and the struggle that come with the weight gain mentally and physically that it will all be so worth it 👏🏽 Don’t try to cut out the climb that’s what ultimately gets you the best results 🔥 I have sacrifice so much time not training this year due to various different reasons that 2025 is going to be the year I put my training as a top priority because I have definitely missed the climb 🫶🏼

  3. I was never this confident!! I dimmed my light that much this version of me nearly didn’t exist 😳 imagine?? Happy to say I built this version of myself from the ground up. 💁🏻‍♀️ and we’re still glowing up 💫 There was a time I actually shrank myself down to stay small, stay still and just play it safe. Let’s face it that’s not me, tired of dimming my own light. Tired of letting life pass me by. I knew I wanted more. Without even knowing I gave myself my confidence back week by week year by year. I look back now and don’t relate to that lost girl that I was. Kind of sad but it’s all part of the journey.   2. Day 1 of the Courtney Black 28 day challenge 2023. It is hard to miss the difference of how my fitness, strength and body have changed over the past year. I am significantly heavier and far weaker. I desperately miss exercising and the buzz that I get from eating well and working out. However, I am the happiest I’ve ever been in other aspects of my life and for a number of reasons my eating and exercise have not been a priority over the last year. The workout was extremely tough, I had to stop multiple times and move much slower. I hate seeing this video and the photos I’ve taken for the challenge but I know I will be thankful I’ve taken them and have something to look back on.
