But unfortunately the buying and selling process in the UK is horrendous. Putting offers in on houses, being insanely outbid and then the person can’t get the mortgage so it goes back on the market after you’ve grieved not getting the house. Nightmare. Then we found “Da One”. All accepted approved. Finally we are on track. 🏡 Until Liz Truss announces her mini budget. 🙃🤯 suddenly people in the chains mortgages get revoked and the loan to value rates mean they have to drop out. 3 potential moving dates later, 2 new mortgage offers and 1 dream home we finally get to call ours. We want to thank every single person who has listened to us moan, vent and cry about this over the last year. Everyone who offered to help us potentially move when we were up a mountain and who fed us and got us drunk after we packed our house up with no where to go. OMG - I cannot believe I’m actually posting this video…🫣…..however it’s something I’m so utterly proud of, that I’m sharing it in the hope it inspires one or some of you lovely lot to take a leap of faith and jump in head first to face a fear. . In my case a fear of learning a dance routine! It might sound ridiculous, but this is something that has literally paralysed me with fear most of my life, until last Thursday. . In the past whenever I’ve tried to learn a dance routine - hen do’s mostly + step + aerobic type classes in the 90’s!! - I’ve always ended up really out of sorts with my head, telling me “Emma you’re useless, you can’t do this, who do you think you are trying to do this, you look stupid.” I’ve always ended up sobbing, feeling awkward & emotionally triggered. . Following 2 attempts to learn a routine with Illana, one online class which I cried all through. Then a DanceBox “Empower” event which was like a day of immersive trauma therapy. I was ‘triggered’ from the moment we did ‘The strut of confidence’ and I just crumbled, hiding in the corner, at one point running out the room and mostly just sobbing and watching like a scared person at the back. I did force myself to do a ‘version’ of the dance, but got no joy from it and just wanted the ground to swallow me up. . However last Thursday felt very different from the off. I went with a laissez-fairs mindset, instead of my default perfectionist tendency. . I still got in my head and Illana noticed me and the others in the same headspace. This is where you get the Illana no nonsense speech. “Get out your head ladies! Get in the room! Get into the music! Stop comparing. Just move your god damn body! Don’t waste this opportunity.” It’s such a powerful & motivational moment, that I felt the energy shift and those of us struggling, suddenly shake off the fear and do it anyway. . I felt at that moment I had a breakthrough and I just danced for the first time, truly, as if no one was watching. Just for me. . Thank you Illana, you are a genius, you did it, you worked your magic on me. 🪄 I can’t wait to come back for round 4. ⚡️💃🎁 . #dancebox #dancelikenooneiswatching #empoweryourself✨
