  2. It's true. I have a lot of women in my life. But not in the way a couple of topless pool party pictures might suggest... Today is #IWD. Most people at @thg are women, so it's a good excuse to celebrate a big achiever – Lucy Gorman. Lucy joined THG 12 years ago as a placement student. She returned as a grad and quickly progressed, working with me on the acquisition of @glossyboxuk in 2017. I was impressed and made Lucy MD of @glossyboxuk. This was a big ask for a 24-year-old not long out of uni. In 2017, I became frustrated with our Myprotein brand. Within 6 years of acquisition, Ingenuity had driven a 15-fold increase in Myprotein Sales to c£300m. But the brand wasn't keeping pace, and growth was fading. We needed to appeal to a wider audience, especially women. And so, the team was changed at the start of 2018. Enter Lucy. Lucy was made CEO of @myprotein just after her 26th birthday. Her industry knowledge was zero. We didn't need industry knowledge, just a change of mindset. Most people say they want these big roles, but few can handle them. Myprotein was overdue a complete rebrand and we needed to launch @myvegan, and @myvitaminsuk and @mpactivewear to give us credibility in new categories and attract a broader gender and age demographic. Maybe Lucy was young and naïve. Or maybe she just backed herself 100% 💪🏼 It was tough; plenty of stress, tears, and doubts. But the rest is history. Lucy, and the team we built, came good. Very good. Last year, Lucy took on a new challenge. I asked her to become CEO of THG Beauty, our largest division, almost twice the size of Myprotein. Apparently, there are fewer than 7,000 companies globally with Sales of more than £1bn. At 30, Lucy is now CEO of one of them. Meritocracy is at the heart of THG. We grow talent, promoting best performers, irrespective of gender, age, race or religion. We've still got some work to do, but I'm really proud of our progress so far. Our median gender pay gap for ordinary pay has reduced 2% year on year, down to 5.4% in 2022 (vs. 15.4% UK national av.), and when we take our tech division out of the equation, it reduces further to 1.8%. #weareTHG

  2. As a girl who has been so fixated on being ‘bikini body ready’, it’s actually mad to understand exactly how consistency really gets you to where you need to be. I used to dread being in a bikini ESPECIALLY wearing anything other than high rise bottoms, and tops like this were a no go for me. The truth is our bodies are our homes so we really need to learn to love them. Recently, I’ve realised I’m body content, not necessarily confident because we all have hang ups that we’ll focus on. So for me it’s about being content, and that means Consistency whilst enjoying the process. All of this has come as a result of training consistently through heavy weights, getting my steps and cardio in, and focussing on a calorie deficit BUT that didn’t mean, cutting out alcohol or chocolate or any of my favourite things, skipping dinners or meals out, not enjoying holidays or having rest days. I can truly say I’m the most content because I’ve enjoyed the process. OF COUUUURSE, sometimes when my alarm goes off at 5am I’m like ‘BRUH REALLLYYYY’ but for me it’s all about balance. I work a 9-5 Monday to Thursday so one of my non negotiables is getting a morning workout at least three times a week, on top of that I teach on @bodybyciaraapp on a Friday morning and have two pre records. I make sure I hit my steps daily. BUT I still drink wine on the weekends, have takeaways, have meals out with friends, and don’t religiously track my calories. I’m on holiday at an all inclusive and yes I’ve trained some days but also, I’ve enjoyed every moment, all of the food, all of the drink and had ZERO guilt. I’ve trained because it’s part of my lifestyle not to ‘burn off’ the day ahead (the reality is if there wasn’t jet lag it probably wouldn’t have happened at all) As we’re in ‘bikini season’ I think the most important thing is to enjoy the whole process and enjoy the holidays that come with it Let’s all do what works for us, and enjoy every minute of it. Okay thanks byeeeeeee 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 PS this is a PSA that DSLR’s get the BEST photo’s 🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️🙂‍↔️

  3. Thought this deserved a place on the main grid after my story post yesterday 🍑🍑🍑 This photo is the difference in 1 year. 1 year of being consisten, lifting heavy, being in a calorie surplus & sticking to the plan When it comes to building muscle it’s not easy but there are a few things you need to do. So I thought I’d set out I’ve been focussing on to get that growth. 1️⃣ Eating in a calorie surplus: Ideally you want to be in a calorie surplus, which means eating more calories than you’re burning. To do this well, you really want to try and keep this clean, focusing on high protein to really help that muscle growth. 🍗🥦🥗🍝 2️⃣ Taking creatine: Creatine helps support muscle growth & muscle recovery and enhances your strength which is KEY for muscle building. I’ve been taking it consistently for a few years now and again have really seen the benefits 💪🏼🦵🏼 3️⃣ Following a structured programme: Willy nilly training isn’t going to cut it. You need a programme that’s going to focus on growth, to build your strength. For the best part it’s a lot of repetition. It’s not exciting, but it works. 📝 4️⃣ Focus on progressive overload: This doesn’t mean every week PB’s but train with intent, using tempo, extra reps & keeping good form ALWAYS.🏋🏼‍♀️ 5️⃣ Prioritise rest: Yes overtraining is a thing. Take your rest days but ALSO take your rest when your training, don’t rush through your sets 😴💤 6️⃣ Be consistent: Not every day is going to be perfect but try and strike that balance and trust the process 7️⃣ Be patient: GROWTH TAKES TIME. Ima say it again. GROWTH TAKES TIME. Just doing one lf these things isn’t going to get the growth you want, but if you layer them all up, the glutes will follow ⏱️ You need to understand that to grow muscles your programme is going to be veryyyyy similar week after week. It’s not fancy but that’s what gets results 💪🏼🦵🏼 I’ve always wanted to do a glute growth guide and now I’m more focussed then ever, but whilst I’m pulling that together if you’re looking to grow and build that strength then my online coaching is available 🤩 the proof is in the pudding 🫡 #glutegrowth #progressiveoverload #onlinecoaching
