Pregnancy countdown 🤍⁣ ⁣ I remember starting this thinking “oh my god, less than 10 weeks!” As our ovulation tracking set us a week ahead of the original hospital dating scan, as did the subsequent scans. Little did I know that this little dude would leave us hanging for another 3 weeks ontop of that “due date” ⁣- nevertheless I loved making this, I think you can see my energy shifts and growing tummy, oh and the changing nursery! Transition is everything in life 👶🏼🤍🍼 ⁣ I was pestered about induction from health professionals saying he was too big, but rejected and followed my own path, giving him the best opportunity to come naturally. You can never plan a birth, but you can have preferences… something I always said from the start. My entire birthing experience was somewhat polar opposite to my preferences, and quite frankly I can’t believe the trauma that women and their birthing partners / babies go through too! maybe I’ll delve into the details at some point, maybe someone out there will find it healing or relatable, mourning the loss of your birthing experience is normal! ⁣so they say anyway. I’m just pleased to be home with my happy healthy bubba. I do miss my bump. Now my bump sleeps in his own bed; it’s crazy! ⁣ Anyway, less waffle for now, and look at my tummy grow, with little a scrunchy man to show for it at the end. I think I missed the last couple weeks of pregnancy Bumpdate a videos because I was just feeling so damn down if I’m being honest.   2. We bought this house with every intention to extend. We received planning permission for a 5m extension right across the back. Think open plan space with a kitchen island. Playroom. Boot room/Utility. Walk in pantry. It was going to be the dream and we were going to add so much value! We renovated the rest of the house, while also saving for the “Big Extension” Then the world went crazy and we realised we weren’t going to be able to afford the extension we wanted, without putting ourselves in financial ruin. We didn’t fancy it. 🫤 But with young kids, we needed a functional open plan family space, so we worked with what we had. And this is the result. We paid for it all with our savings, meaning we can still sleep easy at night (unless I think about our energy bill. That’s another story!) Here’s what we did: 🔨 Knocked down the wall between the dining room and kitchen to open the space up. 🔨 Removed the chimney stack in the dining room to give us some extra space and furnishing options. 🔨 Blocked up the external door in the kitchen, allowing us to create a u-shaped layout. This gave us an entire extra wall to play with! 🔨 Incorporated a peninsula into our design to give us our space saving version of the Big Extension Kitchen Island. I know many of you are probably in the same boat. Driveway Glow up for under £100 🌟 • I’ve recently had a few comments on my driveway glow up from last year so thought I’d try my hand at a reel to show the process and update you on how well it’s holding up. For those that are new around here, last year I transformed our driveway during lockdown for under £100 (this excludes the paint I had to buy twice because it was the wrong colour and the pressure washer, you could scrape the weeds out by hand). It’s actually held up so well over the past 10 months - the only area I’m going to have to touch up is around the front step which is understandable. I didn’t get around to re-sealing it last year but I might do it this year to help it hold up better over the next few years.
