Braced with a 40lb common and three others, have a word!!!!! Bart sent us a few words: “After my first trip to my @llyncaetynant_fishery syndicate in February going so well catching a lovely carp a nudge under 40lb I was itching to get back for another go. However that wasn’t meant to be with other commitments so the may trip it was. With this time of year depth of water is a huge importance so I split my rods up to cover as many spots as I could. Small patches of attractive bait was key but at the same time you’re not committing to a spot with large amounts of bait. Some mini pellets, 8mm boilies and some crushed boilie was just the ticket for this. A 12mm pink hookbait was my choice fished on spinners with size 6 Long Shank Wide Gape hooks, 35lb Coretex hooklinks with Slik clips. I ended up catching five fish over the course of a couple of nights from 4 different spots. Including a brute 36lb linear, a lovely 37.4 glass common, another common over that magical 40lb barrier and the cherry on the cake being a colossal 47.2 mirror called “the carving”. I was fishing with Trev who managed a few lovely fish himself too. So good times all round and a lovely bit of fishing.” @markbartlett1

No idea what to expect, I just knew I was heading to @abbeylakesofficial 😍 Picked up by @clone_valley_carper and straight into one of the best weeks I’ve ever had. The stunning venue, the anglers I met and Ru’s constant banter 😂… everything about it made it an unforgettable experience. I loved it that much that the night before I was due to fly home, I rang my parents and said, “I don’t want to come back yet” 👀 I was meant to be heading to Carp-Talk next, so I messaged Bev to ask if I could come for a week instead of two… and somehow convinced my mum to extend my flight another week 🙌🏽 Hard graft, which I absolutely loved balanced out with a few overnighters and some lunch break stalking sessions 🎣 Mad looking back now… From that trip and to everything that’s come since ❤️ #throwbackthursday #carpfishing

I think this is the prettiest pike I’ve caught!!🤩 I’ve been pretty ill and rundown lately so I went for a chilled out sit down by the waters edge and got the deadbaits out to recharge the body battery!🐟🪫🔋 The colours from head to tail were absolutely stunning, with the prettiest gold and red in its scales.   3. A fantastic perch session last month with lure-fishing buddy @iamthomhunt_fishing 🎣 We spent two days on a large, challenging reservoir. Day one brought plenty of bites, but mostly small perch under 1lb—and the bigguns were nowhere to be seen. After a tactical chat over a pint that evening, we came up with a new plan for day two… and it paid off!   3. After a few days @mikerobinsonchef & @captain_joepk were finally getting the hang of the pole spears in the Bahamas and putting some fish in the cooler. These shallow reefs were unlike anything I’ve ever seen before with meadows of soft fan corals dancing in the sunlight. Once again my trusty @sony.unitedkingdom A7S3 with 16-35mm F2.8 GM lens captures all the detail and colours while maintaining a compact package. Topside again with the workhorse FX6. TBT I mentioned in my previous post that I’ve been lucky enough to have had great feedback from anglers who have used my rig contributions over many years, if you swipe left you’ll see a recent update from Gary Kimbell who has used the Multi-Rig since the early 2000’s and has managed to catch a staggering tally of big carp, most of which has been while using it in one form or another. Gary prefers to stay under the radar and not publicise his success’s, but his tally is so impressive he at least deserves a mention in my opinion, especially given he is not a professional or full time angler. The lead photo is a sunshine common I managed to catch many suns past that was also caught using my multi-rig and a forever reliable Mainline bait that tempted such a gorgeous creature to pick it up in the first place.
