Hello beautiful people ♥️ I’ve missed you and I’m sorry for being so quiet 🙊 I’ve been in my own little world working away on something very important to me these last few months, and I haven’t had much time to myself. To be honest, life’s been unsustainable and imbalanced and giving me flashbacks to my IronMan days when only one thing in the world existed. COVID hit us pretty hard for a while, and we spent a few weeks not able to eat much and feeling like we were on a never-ending boat trip 🛳 but we had each other and are just thankful to be back to ourselves. My back has been holding up real well so I’ve been finding my old strength and feeling like myself again too, so life’s good and I feel extra lucky 🥺 All the heartwarming messages and emails these last few weeks were the sweetest things of all time and I’m sorry there isn’t enough time in the day to reply to each and every one of them! My boy ☃️ he’s always been a superstar, when I was riding him a year ago I still got off grinning about him - he’s always been incredible and every day he throws himself into work and shows me how much more he has, I adore this horse, despite being sensitive as heck and sometimes I think (like with the changes) I wish he was a bit more thuggish because he cares so much, but then that’s why I adore him, he’s such a softie, and wants to please so so much 🥺 … not to mention the engine behind this boy 🚀

  2. He felt up for more, so I let him go… Please excuse me I very much wasn’t expecting that 💥 (or to be filmed lol😅!) He’s felt very high energy these past few days, and today I used it more, not sure he’s as ready as he seems to think as although it felt mega, he’s not really strong enough, I didn’t ask for any more passage like than this despite feeling more collection on offer as I’m not sure it’d have done him any favors at this point in time but excited about this boy (as always 🥰)

  3. Running through our transitions this evening, keeping that tempo the same, making sure the rein only shortens the stride without removing any impulsion or swing! Free walk, medium walk and the end of the collected (where he lifts his shoulders probably because his nose came out… noted!!) I quite like. Although needs more confidence and security, we’ve added a lot of impulsion recently by removing the blockage the rein had caused by me letting him think rein meant stop/ slow down (rather than collect or give & seat mean slow) so this works is new… well not new but better, and that’s harder for him. The extended needs alot more nose out. I will do better tomorrow, but leaving it in as it’s very clear the difference (and importance!)… and the medium walk too, the collected started that way but I fixed it when I started to think about piaffe (interestingly…) All though I am pleased have the same tempo! 🙌🏽

  2. Core Pain 8c first ascent. The name came from that weird toe hook, which gave me an abdominal strain that still hasn't completely healed. It's just really the one hard move on this route, but I really struggled to reach the last inch to the next crimp, and spent absolutely ages trying to be inventive and get something that worked. For most of that time, I was pretty stumped and couldn't picture myself managing the move. Full story of this climb, and the mindset I use to get through roadblocks on unlikely projects on my YouTube channel now.
