  1. 🎄 𝕿𝖜𝖎𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝕮𝖍𝖗𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖒𝖆𝖘 𝖆𝖙 𝕳𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝕮𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖑𝖊 ________________________________________ PR invite 🎅 We visited the beautiful Hever Castle for their twilight Christmas event and Santa’s grotto! 👑 All visits include entry to the Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. You’ll see beautiful traditionally decorated rooms. The kids loved counting the 35 twinkling Christmas trees themed to match the brand new story trail. 🎅 The grotto was magical! Santa and his elves really made the children feel special! ✨ The Christmas lights trail was stunning. One of our favs was the space walk. 🎠 The carousel and traditional fairground rides in front the castle are one of the most spectacular settings. 🐻 The girls loved the charming ‘Lost in the Festive Forest’ trail following the heart-warming tale of Red the squirrel and the story of Ted the lost bear who Red helps to find his way home. 🗓️ There are limited tickets available before Christmas but this event is running until 1st January so it’s the perfect place to recharge after Christmas! Use code XMASTWIN for 10% discount until 1st Jan 2024 *Please note Santa’s grotto and fairground rides are an additional charge #hevercastle #hever #visitkent #christmasexperience #thingstodoinkent #thingstodoinsurrey #surreymum #christmaslightshow #christmaslightsdisplay #christmasmood #christmasactivities #christmastrail #christmasinengland #christmasuk #christmasactivitiesforkids #instacastle #castlesofinstagram #historichouses #anneboleyn #englishgarden #castlesofengland #visitengland #englishcastle #kentishmums #hevercastlegardens #englishcountrygarden #kentdaysout #daysoutwiththekids #mediainvite

  3. Last week I posted some thoughts on being a family with two working parents and it attracted way more attention than I was expecting. I’ll be honest, I thought the post was fairly innocuous (it’s certainly far from the most controversial thing I’ve ever said on social media 😂), and I mainly wrote it because I was bored and wanted to have a go at a carousel. 🫣 95% of the responses were positive, but there were also a group of people who do not agree with the idea of mums (I want to say “both parents” but it was mums) going to work. I deleted some of the most offensive comments, but I couldn’t keep on top of all of them (ironically, because I was at work 🤦🏻‍♀️) and some sparked debate so I left them. Here are some of the thoughts expressed: - Women shouldn’t have children if they want to be apart from them for 40 hours a week. - Children who go to wraparound care need therapy as adults. - Childcare makes children dysregulated. - It is heartbreaking that children go to nurseries/wraparound care. - Your children are more important than your career. - Mums shouldn’t work full time. - Working mums are absent and do not connect with their children. I mean Jesus Christ 🤯. I didn’t realise people felt quite so strongly about other peoples set ups! Clearly I don’t agree with those comments (I thought some of them tipped into batshit crazy) but the most important thing here is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you don’t want to send your child to wraparound care or nursery then great, don’t send them! But women who choose to are allowed to talk about how it is a part of their lives (and a positive one!). I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again - men do not spend time criticising other men for their life choices. They’re too busy getting promoted into jobs that they’re not qualified for, getting their mates promoted, getting paid more than us, and running (/setting fire to) the world. If women supported each other and stood together, we’d get so much further at pushing for change on the issues that affect us. It’s depressing that we’re not there yet. #workingparents #theaftermath
