U76 🥇 Welsh Championships 2025 This might surprise a lot of people but I’m actually really not competitive at all and I genuinely just want to better myself each competition (which might be why I’ve never won before🤣) but this time I knew I had to win to get myself back to the competition I loved competing in last year 🙏🏻 And I can’t lie, winning did feel very good but also very emotional 😭 The total I put up does not reflect my overall strength but it does reflect my resilience, patience and positivity that I’ve held onto for the last 8 weeks. I also walked away with a bench PB which was originally my lifetime goal when I started powerlifting of 100KG 🥹 I’ve found so much joy in life outside of lifting recently and I’m really going to enjoy those aspects over the next few weeks but just know that Millielifts at the British Open 2025 will be INSANE.   1. 370kg squat, all-time biggest in 125kg class in UK Masters class. Unofficial WPC World Record. It was a truly great comp run by @british_powerlifting_union . Thank you all of you ! Only thing missing was the „cherry on a cake” in deadlift. Literally 99% was done and it would have been 950kg total and 9/9 lifts done on the day. But I will post about it later. Bodyweight was 117.45kg and I got 920kg total at the end. STAY STRONG !

  2. What a great atmosphere it was! 245kg BENCH PRESS from last weekend (30 March 2024). A little bit better than at World Championships in November 2023. After SQUATTING 370kg … I was literally „wiped out” for about 30minutes. People were comimg to congratulate but I was somewhere else mentally. I was replying „in my head I am still squatting”. Eventually a 5 minutes meditation sorted me out. I was ready to do some pressing. Original plan was 220-235-250. After 235 I knew it’s not happening. so I decided to psyche up a bit and I have attacked 245. That was just spot on weight selection. SPOT-ON!!! So far 6/6 attempts all 100% good. But it’s a strength marathon. Or mental marathon. Winter was over, but DEADLIFT WAS COMING. plans were to do 335kg and to beat my own WPC World record in total, from 925 in November to 950kg. That would also give me all-time number 1 ranking in all-time WPC masters classification (by DOTS on @openpowerlifting) … but thats a story for another day.. SIŁA!!! ST SUMMER SHOWDOWN RECAP Mixed bag today personally, wanted more but can’t complain at the result for first time out in 18 months. 7/9 742.5kg Total (70kg Best) 272.5kg Squat (25kg Comp Best) 160kg Bench Press (15kg Comp Best) 310 Deadlift (30kg competition best and 5kg All Time PB!) Two misses on Squat/Bench took me by surprise, could potentially blame the pace of the day but reality is I was light and not strong enough for them today. Also managed to snag the 🥇 by 1 IPF Point which was nice as it’s my first actual win😂😂 @supertraininguk ran a great comp moved so smoothly so thanks everyone, special mention @gb_powerlifting_support_group with some great commentary and support during the day.   1. WHY? ✨⤵️ You’re planning on competing but you; 1. Don’t have your heels on the floor while you bench 2. Never lock out on deadlifts 3. Don’t know what the commands are 4. Never hit depth on squats 5. Have non IPF approved kit The rules are there and the best advice I can give you is train to comp standards. To do that you need to have a good idea of the IPF rules ✅ If you don’t train to comp standards prior you are gonna see a lot of red lights and your first comp experience is likely to be 💩 Don’t ruin what is meant to be an amazing day, by being negligent.
