  2. Proof that not all adventures have to be hiking up crazy mountains. Since leaving the Lake District (my home for almost the last 4 years) , I’ve been struggling getting to grips with living back in the Midlands, far away from any mountains, coasts or much wilderness. However, I am fortunate enough to live just a stones throw away from this here @rspb Nature Reserve , and it’s been a godsend. I grew up getting lost around the marshes and wetlands of this lil place, so it’s been nice to return and get all nostalgic and that. I also think I’ve hit abit of a quarter life crisis , cos your boy wants to get into some more birding shenanigans. Photographing birds is honestly so much more challenging than it looks, so here’s a few shots I took on my local stroll the other day. Lemme know what you think.   3. The best mountain I’ve ever climbed? Tag the person that has to come hike Suilven with you this summer ⛰️🔥🥾 It’s got to be, after being in my list for over 5 years, it feels pretty insane to have finally summited the infamous Suilven in the North West Highlands of Scotland. There’s something so magical about this particular area, with the mountains rising steep above the wild and untamed moorland. This part of the highlands just feels so characteristically different to the other areas, it just feels even more remote and wild, which of course is what we LOVE! If you’re thinking of doing this hike, please note that it’s not a short one. It’s a long old day out, and requires decent navigational skills and knowledge as well as plenty of endurance for a good ol day out on your feet. Also remember that conditions can change rapidly, especially in the highlands, so be sure to bring the essential equipment including headtorch, waterproofs, sturdy footwear, warm layers and of course your snacks and water. Last thing: whilst this hike is utterly breathtaking and I’m so thankful for experiencing it, this was probably the reason why I am currently having physical trouble with my back and sciatica (because I didn’t listen to my body) so, remember this mountain will always be there another day, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!! - I’ll be touching in this even more in tomorrow reel.   3. AD.. We had the most magical time watching Cinderella @shakespearenorthplayhouse Such a wonderful experience with the circular shaped theatre. (Our first experience of this and we loved it!)   1. Little snapshots of a stroll around Holy Island… from the last time I took a wander just me and my camera taking in the sights and taking photos just for the pure pleasure of it. No agendas or brief, just capturing moments that made me smile. Lots of captures of the famous Lindisfarne Castle backdrop, the 16th century castle was built on a high rock known as Beblowe, the highest point of the island. The Priory and St Cuthbert statue reminding you of the sheer vast amount of history this island holds, one of the most important centres of early English Christianity. The Viking raids and border warfare the island has witnessed there are certainly some tales to tell here! But one of my favourite captures of the day was the fourth in this post, seeing this lady amongst a sea of cameras and phones and technology as people captured their day just lost in a drawing of the scenery.   3. @barterbooksuk snapshot moments… a perfect way to spend a cosy weekend in one of my favourite Northumberland gems. Barter Books in Alnwick has been one of my happy places for a lot of years I can spend hours browsing and love the ambience here 📚. Once a Victorian railway station opened in 1887 the last train ran in 1968 and now Europe’s largest second hand bookstore with so much character and nods to its train station past everywhere you look. The waiting rooms converted into a cafe, the miniature railway running around the top of the bookshelves and row after row of gorgeous books to discover. You can return used books here for store credit against purchases hence the ‘barter’ I often go in with a pile to exchange for a new pile to bring home! Cosy seats, a ton of character and a gorgeous cafe for your coffee and food stop it’s become a tourist attraction in its own right and it’s easy to see why. #barterbooks #bookshop #secondhandbooks #alnwick #northumberland #northumberlandblogger #bookstagram

  1. Such beautiful weather for spring equinox yesterday! 🔆As there was red sky at night (shepherd's delight), I'm hoping there'll be good weather today too. After various tasks, I'll heading north this evening for a weekend of adventure! Stay tuned. Equinox and Red Sky: The equinox marks the first day of astronomical spring - although weather forecasters tend to refer to meteorological spring which began on 1 March. The equinoxes happen in March and September when the Sun is exactly above the Equator, which makes day and night of equal length.   2. The view westwards from the Malvern Hills 🌳 I've seen these hills so many times from a distance but never actually walked up them until now. It's not difficult to walk up to the summit as there's a number of prepared trails to follow. Given these hills stand quite prominently in the area, they offer suberb views all around.
