  1. Promise we will go to Hawaii together someday 🌺🏝️👇🏻 Hawaii is one of my favorite places in the world and picking which island to visit could be challenging. Here is a short guide to help you pick: 1️⃣ Big Island (Hawaiʻi Island) An island of pure variety. See active volcanoes inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, wander lava fields that feel otherworldly, and relax on beaches with black, white, or even green sand. 2️⃣ Maui Waterfalls, bamboo forests, and endless views. Drive the iconic Road to Hana for cliffside curves and cascades, swim beneath hidden falls, or catch sunrise above the clouds at Haleakalā National Park. 3️⃣ Kauai Home to the legendary Nā Pali Coast, towering ridgelines best seen on a sunset catamaran, a helicopter ride, or from the Kalalau Trail. Explore hikes like Awa’awapuhi or Sleeping Giant, then unwind on beaches tucked beneath emerald mountains. It’s Hawaii at its wildest. 4️⃣ Oahu City energy meets island adventure. Wander Honolulu’s food scene, relax on Waikiki, then escape to ridge hikes like the Koko Crater Stairs or Lanikai Pillbox. Surf breaks, turquoise water, and sunset vibes everywhere. 5️⃣ Molokai Quiet, grounded, and deeply local. Meet some of the warmest communities in Hawaii, explore the soaring sea cliffs of the north shore, or visit the historic Kalaupapa Peninsula for a glimpse into the island’s past. A slower, more authentic escape. Hawaii | Oahu | Maui | Kauai | USA | Travel | Roadtrip | National Park | Hiking | Waterfalls | Travel Guide | Travel Inspiration . #kauai #travel #hawaii

  1. Here’s what YOU can do 👇🌎 Our public lands are not for sale. period. But ESPECIALLY not for more oil drilling and mining ⛽️ Secretarial Order 3418 requires a review of public Federal lands (which includes national monuments, parks, forests and wilderness areas) for “energy exploration and production” aka oil drilling. In addition, over 2,000 NPS employees and 3,400 National Forest employees (10% of their workforce) have been fired. These are the people at our parks and forests maintaining the trails and facilities, teaching workshops, and helping you when needed. Without them, our parks and forests are destined to lack the proper care they need. With increasing tourism in the national parks this is devastating news. Expect long lines, dirty bathrooms, and fewer rangers to provide guidance. It’s never been more important to make your voice heard. If you have ever stepped foot into a national park, national forest, or enjoy being outside on America’s public lands then please consider signing these petitions. It takes 60 seconds and they’re all linked in my bio. You can also comment LAND and I’ll DM you the links to the petitions 🌎 These are OUR lands, our children’s lands, our grandchildren’s lands — they are not for sale. “A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.” —Franklin D Roosevelt PETITIONS (in 🔗🔗) TO SIGN ✍️ @npcapics : Protect our National Park Service Staff. Tell Congress to stand up for park staff and to roll back these job cuts. @wildernesssociety : Millions for Monuments, Not Monuments for Millionaires. Petition calling on Congress and your representatives to urge the government to keep our public land and naitional monuments free from oil driling. @outdooralliance: Ask Lawmakers to Reverse Staffing Cuts at Land Management Agencies. Let’s protect the places we love 🥾 #nationalparks #protectourparks #nationalpark #outdoors #protectoutplanet

  1. Staying warm in the cold starts with one thing. Layering the right way. Most people think you just throw on a big jacket and call it good, but that is how you end up cold, sweaty, and miserable on the trail. Here is the simple system that actually works in winter. Start with your base layer. This is the layer that sits against your skin and its job is to pull sweat away from your body. Sweat is what makes you cold in the winter so you need materials like synthetic or merino wool. Never wear cotton because it soaks up moisture and stays wet. Next is your mid layer. This is your insulation and its job is to trap heat. Think fleece, light puffies, or grid hoodies. You can adjust the thickness of this layer based on how cold it is and how hard you are working. If you feel yourself sweating, take this layer off before you get soaked. Your outer layer is your shell. This protects you from wind, snow, and moisture. A good shell keeps the elements out and lets the moisture from your base layer escape. Hard shells give the most protection and soft shells give more breathability so pick based on the conditions. The goal is to stay warm and dry without overheating. Add layers when you stop moving and remove layers right when you start to sweat. Do not wait until you are drenched because your body will dump heat fast once you stop. Layering is not complicated. You just need the right pieces and a little awareness of your body. Learn what works for you and winter hiking becomes a lot more enjoyable.
