Things I did to improve my heart rate whilst running ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒธ ๐Ÿฉต Take my easy runs EASY - if you think you're running slow enough you're probably wrong, I force myself to slow right down and watch my heart rate rather than my pace on all of my easy runs. ๐Ÿฉต Run with a friend - this slows me down without thinking as 99% of the time I'm yapping away, if you can string a full sentence together without feeling like you're going to pass out then you're on the right track ๐Ÿฉต Include one hard session a week - max effort, tempo/intervals/hill sprints (my guilty pleasures) I live in a really hilly area so this definitely forced me into harder sessions which definitely helped my HR!! ๐Ÿฉต Staying hydrated!!! So overlooked but get your electrolytes in girlies, since I've been consistent with mine I've seen the biggest difference in my heart rate. ๐Ÿฉต Consistency - these sort of improvements do not happen over night, and it took me 2 training blocks to see this kind of improvement, following a plan changed the game, I used @Runna for both of my training blocks, they remind me to take my easy runs slow and test me out or my comfort zone with harder sessions (c0de LIVMATTHEW for 2 weeks free) ๐Ÿคฉ Also pls remember, your cycle can massively effect your HR too, your luteal phase loves to see a high heart rate comin โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ #Running #run #runner #runnergirl #heartrate

  2. In the lab for Testing - VO2 Max & Lactate Threshold Testing๐ŸŒก๏ธ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ”ฌ The last few months of 2025 has been rough. I have been dealing with a stubborn niggle which has affected my training considerably. However, I have come to accept that this is all part of being an athlete and although itโ€™s frustrating, itโ€™s how you adapt and overcome that truly matters. Patience is key. So moving into 2026, I am remaining optimistic and I am ready to take my training to the next level, to help myself be the best athlete I can be. I am lucky and excited to now be working with the most knowledgeable in the field and canโ€™t wait to see what a difference this makes to performance and training.
