I think that’s normal when you get a new sports car, especially one with such a legendary reputation — and price point. Intimidating. Whenever I feel this way, I think the solution is to simply drive the car. Get used to it, get comfortable with it. Learn the gear pattern, the clutch engagement, the braking distances. Learn where the edges are when maneuvering in a small space. Scrape the front end a few times so you know what it’ll clear. So today I drove this car 300 miles. Through a sand storm, through pouring rain, and on some truly amazing twisty mountain roads. And here’s what I think: It’s not the rarest. It’s not the most valuable. It’s not the flashiest, the most head-turny. It’s not Enzo’s last, or Ferruccio’s first, or Piëch’s passion project. But it is the best-driving sports car ever built, period. Ever, in the history of the sports car, this is it — the sports car that drives better than all the others. But I’m still intimidated by it. Time to go drive it some more… 😃

I had told multiple close friends/family early that day that I had a feeling I would have this baby without my birth team here (because of the tricks my body kept playing on me.) As contractions were getting more intense I found myself distracted by fear and what-if’s.. but would force my mind back to prayer. Lord please guide me. If this is your will, please guide me through it. Surrender. Focus. Breathe. Over and over. Haydn was in and out of our room dividing his attention between me and the boys throughout all of this. My sister in law came to pick up the boys around 5:25-5:30 and Haydn said he would be right back, he was going to help her with the carseats. At this moment I knew for sure, baby was coming. I looked up at him and said “you can’t leave, I think I’m about to have the baby.” His eyes got big realizing the same thing I did- it was just us. He locked the door and said “ok, what should I do?” I told him to grab some towels and put them on the floor around me (I had already instinctively dropped to my knees and was leaning my upper body forward onto our bed.) There was nothing logical or planned or thought through for anything that came next- purely instinct and hanging on for dear life while my body showed me just how powerful it is. A big “pop” sensation and water went all over the towels, my tummy squeezed and out came his head. A small break that felt like eternity, another crushing squeeze and he was born- at 5:34pm, into Haydns hands. “Another baby boy” he said. We did it. I did it. Welcome to the world, my baby. 🤎

  2. I left my camera out over night at a lake while I went back to my hotel, about 10 minutes away. I haven’t shot the Milky Way in nearly 7 years, and wanted to capture it rising above Mount Fuji. It was set to rise at ~3am and was absolutely freezing outside, so I risked leaving my camera out alone from 10pm-Sunrise. Luckily Japan feels extremely safe, but leaving a few thousand dollars worth of gear out over night is never a great feeling… not until you wake up to one of the greatest timelapse’s you’ve ever captured. I came back just before sunrise to find my camera untouched and still shooting, and I let it continue through the sunrise, which ended up being absolutely insane. Huge shout out to @mikeabramyan for scouting the location and for helping dial my settings in for this 🤘🏼 Thank you to @sliktripods for this light weight travel tripod that stayed sturdy when the winds picked up. Their trigger head might be the best addition to a tripod I’ve ever seen.   3. In full bloom 🌸 I got extremely lucky witnessing cherry blossoms (sakura) at their peak bloom weeks earlier than usual on my recent trip to Japan. Typically, sakura in Japan start blooming in late March to early April, but in one unique place, Kawazu, they bloom a month ahead. Unlike the cherry blossoms found throughout Japan, Kawazu-zakura are unique cherry blossoms, and they all originate from a single tree (check my last slide). It took 5.5 hours, 3 train rides, and 3 bus rides from Mount Fuji to reach this small peninsula, somewhere I never would have thought to visit, but it was so worth it. In the early morning, especially when it’s raining, you can have the entire riverside path to yourself, lined with cherry blossoms for miles. By afternoon, vendors set up along the streets offering food and drinks, and at 7 to 10 PM, the trees are lit up for evening cherry blossom strolls. One of my coolest experiences in Japan, hands down.
