  3. Want to finish strong at the rim and take bumps like a pro?⤵️ Finishing through contact is a crucial skill for basketball players at all levels. Being able to absorb and respond to physical contact while maintaining control and balance is essential for scoring effectively in competitive games. Here’s why it’s important and how you can improve this skill. Why Taking Bumps Matters: 1. Enhanced Scoring Ability: In real-game situations, defenders will try to disrupt your path to the basket. Being able to take a bump and still finish strong ensures you can score even under pressure. 2. Improved Balance and Control: Developing the ability to handle contact improves your overall body control and balance. This makes you a more versatile and reliable player on the court. 3. Increased Confidence: Knowing you can finish through contact boosts your confidence during games. This mental edge can make a significant difference in high-pressure situations. 4. Drawing Fouls: By maintaining control and balance when taking contact, you increase the chances of drawing fouls from defenders. 5. Realistic Game Simulation: Practicing with contact helps simulate real-game conditions, preparing you better for what you will face during actual competitions. Drill: 1. Setup: • The defensive player holds a medicine ball at chest height. The offensive player stands a few feet away, ready to drive towards the defender. 2. Execution: • The offensive player drives their shoulder into the medicine ball, delivering a strong bump to the defender. • The goal is to produce force while maintaining balance and control. • The defensive player braces their core to absorb the impact, focusing on staying balanced and resisting the force. 3. Objectives: • Offensive Player: Improve the ability to produce force, maintain balance, and control during a drive. • Defensive Player: Enhance core strength, balance, and ability to handle contact while on the move. 4. Key Points: • Offense: • Engage your core and keep a low center of gravity. • Defense: • Brace your core to absorb the impact. • Stay balanced and maintain your stance. #StraightBucketsPerformance #TrainingThatTranslates

  1. I laid with you on that cold flight. Over your casket. The entire time. 7 hours in the C130. Cold. Loud. Constant noise. Earplugs in. Grateful nobody could hear me sobbing. Talking to you. I didn’t know this photo was taken. I was just with you. I didn’t want to leave you now that I was physically with you again. Your dignified transfer. “Tyler’s Last Flight.” That morning at JBLM, before we took off, the clouds parted. A beam of light broke through and settled over us. I felt you there. Your Astoria guys were there. Your brothers. The honor guard carried you with such care and flew with us. Steady. Respectful. I’m so grateful for the way they honored you and carried all of us through it. Air Station Kodiak flew us. Their crew. Their aircraft. Kodiak was your dream. The life we talked about constantly. The adventures, the frontier, fishing, exploring. Our future kids in tiny boots standing in streams with you. And the work. The gnarliest cases. The challenge. The grit. No excuses. You wanted all of it. And you wanted me there with you. Of course it was Kodiak that carried you. That didn’t feel random. I didn’t want to leave your side. At one point I stepped into the cockpit to thank the crew. They showed me their thermal cameras, how you find people in SAR. And then… cows. Just laying out in a field. And later, beaver lodges. Our things. Our jokes. Our stops on the side of the road. It felt like you were sending me signs. I laughed through tears. Before we landed, I changed into my black dress and asked the pilot to pin your wings on me. I just wanted to carry you. When we landed, the honor guard carried you forward with precision and care. I watched. I broke. I cried for your sacrifice, for ours. The aviation community stood in flight suits. Exactly how you would have wanted it. Not formal. Not stiff. Just you. Then the sky filled. Three MH-65s in formation overhead. It was beautiful. It was dignified. It was BADASS. Today marks 3 weeks. My heart is still shattered. Tyler, I’m broken. Honoring you is the only way I know how to keep breathing. But you were there. I felt you. I know you loved it. I hope I made you proud. I love you. All. Of. It.

  3. Tyler Joseph Jaggers ❤️🪽 The world will remember Tyler as an American hero. But to me, he was so much more than Rescue Swimmer #1087. Tyler loved his job deeply and worked relentlessly to earn the title of a USCG Helicopter Rescue Swimmer. But what made him remarkable wasn’t just the job — it was the way he lived his life. He led by example with quiet strength, kindness, and humility in everything he did. Tyler held himself to a standard and pushed himself every day to become the best version of himself — physically, mentally, and as a person. He never complained about a damn thing. The discipline and determination that man had were extraordinary. He showed up for himself and others because he genuinely wanted to and simply because he said he would. But Tyler was also the most joyful person I’ve ever known. He woke up every morning at 6:30 without fail, kissed my face, told me he loved me, and said how excited he was for a new day. He was genuinely stoked to be alive. Tyler loved life in the biggest way. We surfed, fished, mountain biked, skied, hiked, and explored as much of the world as we could together. Being outside was where he felt most alive. He was a gentle giant — 6’4 and 230 pounds — but he melted at the sight of puppies and pulled the truck over often so we could admire baby cows in pastures. Nature was one of his greatest passions. He could name nearly every tree around us, and animals gravitated toward him wherever we went. Our dog Hugo was completely spellbound by him. Tyler was only 31, but he lived bigger, loved deeper, and experienced more life than most people will in a lifetime. Most will remember him as a hero who gave his life during a rescue mission. I will remember him as my greatest love, my partner in adventure, and the man who made every day feel like the start of something beautiful. We told each other “I love you” every day, a thousand times a day, so neither of us ever had to wonder. I’m at ease knowing the last thing I ever said to him was: “I love you. I’m so proud of you.” Rest in peace my sweet beautiful angel ❤️
