  2. I did a thing. After years of searching, I finally found a sweet little house nestled in my favorite part of Maine. It’s a simple little cape cod—small enough to tackle some improvements on my own. I drove up this week to say “hi” and “bye” ( 😭) before shutting it down for the winter. It’s perfectly situated on a private road not far from the water. The open two acre plot will be the perfect place for a field of wildflowers and apple trees. I am looking forward to quiet days writing in front of the sunny window, dips at my favorite beach a short drive away, outdoor cooking under the big maple tree, and mostly getting to know the amazing community of people up there. I can’t wait to start painting and filling it with art and antiques. Part of me can’t believe that just 14 years ago we were homeless and living in a two room office. And now I own two homes in both of my favorite places in Maine. I feel very lucky 🍀 but I know it took a lot of hard work, and there will be a lot more to come to take care of it all. But for now I’ll spend the winter months dreaming of spending time there next summer. Can’t wait to share progress!

  1. Visited my first community ice harvest at the historic Thompson Ice House in South Bristol, Maine as they marked 200 years of the tradition. I had so many questions before arriving. Is there a dress code? Do I bring a dish to share? What if we all fall in? Do I need to bring my own rusty ice pointy thingy? Will others join in if we begin singing “The Frozen Heart (Ice Worker’s Song)” from Frozen? It was so fun to just to show up and watch people get right to work. Luckily we didn’t need to bring anything. Volunteers cut blocks from Thompson Pond and guided them up a wooden chute where they flew into the barn for storage. In the past, this ice was used by local fishermen to transport shellfish to market, and by residents and summer families to stock ice boxes and make ice cream. A simple, hands on way to keep history going. Fun was had by all and we didn’t fall in.

My family and I moved to the U.S. in 1998, chasing a better life and new beginnings. My love for art and beauty has been with me for as long as I can remember – and in 2019, I turned that passion into a business, starting out of a small home studio with just lash extensions. Not long after, I discovered permanent makeup… and let’s just say, I got obsessed – especially with brows! Fast forward to today, I now own two studios in Windham and Portland, Maine, and I’m incredibly grateful to lead a team of talented, hardworking women who inspire me every day. Teaching and mentoring others in the PMU world is one of my greatest joys.
