Silverlake Ramen has a second location open here in the city, this one is at Crossroads (Barranca and Culver) and has been open for just about a month 💯 I had a chance to stop by, enjoy some of their food and meet the staff including Souna, the location manager who has been with the group for 6 years! 🙏🏼 What I had: The Shoyu on Fire Ramen and made it a combo with Karaage Chicken, yes it was fire! 🔥 Founded in LA by Chef Jitaek Lim, there is a reason they expanded rapidly and organically.   3. A few weeks ago, I launched Undercover Vice Mayor—a new effort to support local small businesses through unannounced visits to establishments across our district and city. My first stop was Súp Noodle Bar at Heritage Plaza (Culver & Walnut), a viral sensation and community favorite. This is their second location, following the original in Buena Park. Sup Noodle Bar offers “Modern” Vietnamese cuisine, with a vibrant menu featuring everything from Pho to Lomo Saltado. I had the PHỞ ANTHONY BOURDAIN—a Northern-style pho with wok-seared scallions, red onions, and minced garlic with filet mignon. The unique smoky flavor made it stand out, and Sup also offers unlimited noodles for all their pho dishes. I also tried their Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian favorite, which was packed with flavors including that amazing green sauce. The service and hospitality were outstanding, with an attentive server and management who personally checked in to ensure everything was perfect. Fast forward to last week—this time, I returned in an official capacity with my Chief of Staff, Steven Alves, and Commissioner Ron Scolesdang to meet the owner and founder of Kei Concepts, the parent company of Sup Noodle Bar. We had the honor of presenting them with a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Irvine in recognition of their contributions to our local dining scene. I’ve had a number of different engineering jobs, found some of my dearest friends, and experienced happiness in ways that I never expected. Growing up, music has always been a huge part of my life. It’s taught me so many life lessons through some of the best lyricism and story telling. It’s one of my favorite past times and I still very much enjoy every aspect that it plays in my life. From collecting vinyl records to sharing playlists to seeing my favorite artists live, there’s always something that brings me back to it. But as of late, I’ve been wondering what’s next for me and what passions I can pursue. That’s when I found @academyofdjs I cannot give enough thanks to everyone who has invested so much time in my development as a DJ and helped me make my passion into a reality. With that being said, I am proud to announce that I’ll be spinning my first ever event as Justin Eames! The name comes from some of my favorite modern furniture designers, Charles and Ray Eames. They once said, “The role of a designer is that of a very good, thoughtful host anticipating the needs of his guests.” The real ones know how I always try to live my life to the fullest by being in the present. I always try to ensure that each experience I have with someone is a positive one because you never know when is the last time you’re going to see them. I wanted to bring that same energy to the crowd, embody that quote, and apply it to the music.
