  2. the 10th house is more expansive than just career. it’s about Becoming. I talk to a lot of clients about how first and foremost, the 10th house (& MC) are about *visibility*. What you’re known and remembered for in a public sense. Sometimes your career is a big part of that, and sometimes it’s not— and that’s completely ok. When we think of the 10th house as ONLY career, it’s a slippery slope to capitalist thinking such as, “I had an awesome 10th house transit but my career didn’t level up… I didn’t work hard enough/harness it correctly. I’m a flop.” Imagine your legacy being nothing but what you did for a job… it’s not true. You’re more than what you do for work. I think of the 10th house in the context of making an axis with the 4th: with the 4th house being where you came from, and the 10th being where you’re going. The 4th house of “who you were”, and the 10th house of “who you’re becoming”. (@austin_coppock taught me to think about the houses as axes in his class Here There Be Dragons, and it has transformed the way I think about the houses— I highly recommend it!) The 10th house/MC and its ruler[s] hold your hopes, dreams, and *expectations* about what kind of person you want to be as you make your way through life. This process of becoming happens over the course of the whole lifetime, so it will shift and change, narrating the story of how you grow into yourself and build a legacy that extends beyond your career. You don’t have to center career. You don’t have to be super ambitious. You don’t have to harness every 10th house transit or full moon with the intention to boost your work. You can just *be* in your process of Becoming (you always are, and always will be), and trust your Story as it unfolds. And more often than not, it’s helpful to remember: you have more time than you think. Do you have any planets your 10th house, and have you ever felt 10th house FOMO during big transits? What planet rules your 10th house, and do they guide your process of Becoming? My b00ks for May open to my ma!ling lyst tomorrow in the wee hours, so if you want to snag a spot, now’s the time to get on that so you get it in your in box! #astrology #10thhouse

  3. just thinking about the 8th house: I talk about the 8th house with clients alllll the time: whether The Big Transit of the season is in their 8th, they have natal planets there, or they’re in an 8th house profection year. it’s a dark house, and I have a special place in my heart for those being a card carrying 12th Houser and 12H specialist. we’ve all heard the mundane significations of the 8th: joint finances, taxes, debt, your partner’s money, etc. that’s all real and we can see it show up in the natal chart and transits. but what about the notably less tangible 8th house stuff: fear. the occult. anxiety. “idleness” (??). sex (depending on who you ask). even Death itself, the greatest mystery, belongs to the 8th house. it’s all connected through the concept of vulnerability: think about how much trust and inherent risk there is in joining bank accounts with someone. it’s SO intimate. it is a kind of bond that brings the intangible and tangible together: a deep, hooks-in bond. the 8th house is about boundaries as much as it is about connection. the 8th house will not let us forget we need each other, and yet the Other will *always* be an uncontrollable variable. it is our fear and longing for those deep bonds, and both the surrender and discernment needed to forge them. even if your 8th house is empty, it still plays this role in your chart. what planet rules your 8th house? how does that planet go about ruling this house of deep bonds? how does this planet approach vulnerability and boundaries? ✨extra credit:✨ what *other* house does that planet rule (if it’s not the sun or moon), and how is that house connected to your unique experience of 8th house things? I could say so much more—this was really such an off the cuff thing to write 😅 for now, keep an eye out tomorrow morning for something that will help you with the above exercise 👀, and remember to get on my snailing lyst if you haven’t already! #astrology #8thhouse
