  3. Carving into 16 years sober today!! I like to think there’s multiple ways of staying sober. And what ever way works for you is fine. Some need meetings every day. Some need a healthy hobbies. Some need both. It’s just fine! For myself when I chose to get sober I was just done! Having surfing was Paramount. All the things that fall into place when you make that choice are incredible. Beautiful wife and kids, jobs, friends. Family comes back into your life. But I can tell you it’s really tough to hear how you were to people but all you can do is trying and change for the better. (And those old behaviors come up from time to time) but you can’t beat yourself up. Also putting your head down and Excepting jobs and wages less desirable to just start making money and get going on life was one of the harder things to do. But being humble is a Quality I really look up to. Along the way lots of people helped me and I want to say thank you. From @skin_dizzle giving me a board to ride freshly sober to all the support from @nellysmagicmoments and honestly Dennis young for a place to live and Rosey for her support @nat_young for also helping me.   3. Today was a day I will remember for a long time. This was the biggest swell I have seen at Pleasure Point. It felt like Mimi Mavs and I saw guys ride some 30’ers. Which is crazy to say. Sets were everywhere. The rides were walled out and so fast. Some drops wedged and bowled so hard that they were super critical. 25 second interval waves are so hard to surf. I got a few that made me feel like a big wave surfer again. Sure was nice. I got flogged getting pounded in. Came to the beach very beat up and tired but okay and feeling good now. I’m grateful I can still surf these conditions. Cheers to everyone that made it out and rode some waves. That was historic. 🙌🏽.   3. 20 years ago today this bird flew. Jay Moriarity 6/16/78 - 6/15/01. Words will never do. This kid was BIG in Spirit! No questions about it, Jay operated on an entirely different frequency. He walked his own path and would emanate joy in the darkest of places. Jay could effortlessly remove people’s walls and disarm them with his radiant smile, at a time in our neighborhood when smiles weren’t always the cool thing to do. Jay knew himself. It was carried in his eyes and demeanor with inner confidence, not with ego and a puffy chest. Jay faced his life struggles or hardships early on and channeled it into his training and passion for big waves. Jay did his inner work and pushed the boundaries seemingly without fear.   1. ✨ shino play ✨ . I always forget until I remember how much fun it is to pull these serrated marks across a larger piece.. you have to work swiftly before the glaze dries. Makes for a fun dance of sorts, feels like jazz.. These high fire shino glazes are very stable by nature and can be applied extra thick without running.. They also hold all the marks made to them through the fire making for a real fun and versatile glazing experience. …this video is only showing a tiny fraction of what is possible with shinos.. endless potential here.. I’ll cover more approaches in the future… time to reload the kiln..   3. 🔥I could use your help!🔥 Not really the type to ask for it, in fact maybe I never have.. think about it like a go fund me only you getta sweet pot out of it! . Getting this kiln hooked up is a huge dream come true, and I’m really just in need of some funds for a few things like more shelves/kiln furniture/glaze supplies (plus a fat gas bill) . So! I have a ridiculous amount of wares in the studio right now and not enough avenues to sell them.. If there’s anything you’d like now is the time !
