  2. If you had told me that I was going to be dedicating a week of my summer this year to go out and share the good news of the gospel years ago, I would have never believed you. Growing up, I was always the shy Christian, the one who never spoke out about my faith, the one who always hesitated to pray for my family at the dining table when asked to. Coming to southern California for college, I was afraid that I was going to grow apart in my relationship with Christ, as I was over 300 miles away from my hometown church. However, God was able to lead me to the Church of Southland in Anaheim, a church part of the Acts Ministries International (AMI) last year. There, I was welcomed with open arms, and throughout my journey with them so far, I could not have asked for a better group of brothers and sisters of Christ to be around. Seeing everyone’s different stories of how they came to Christ and how God has worked in their lives really opened my eyes as it allowed me to continue to seek God daily and grow in him. As I look back to all the trials and tribulations that life has brought me, it has been amazing to see all the goodness that God has brought me day in and day out. Seeing how much I’ve grown in my faith and how much more confident I am now, I want to now take on the role of bringing others to Christ, whether they are completely not knowledgeable about it, or whether they are struggling in their faith. As a faithful servant of Christ, I am excited to see how God uses me to not just live out his glory by myself, but to also bring others to Him. With this being said, I am excited to announce that this summer, I will be participating on a one week missions trip to Lawndale, California!! I am more than blessed to be able to serve God on this opportunity and I ask if you would join me in prayer as my team and I continue to prepare for this trip ahead :) There is so much more to share, so if you are curious about anything, this trip, my walk with God, etc. feel free to reach out and shoot me a DM!   3. This past week, from June 30 to July 7, I was extremely blessed to join a wonderful missions team in going to Lawndale, CA, to serve the Lord. Having so many heartfelt experiences, I am excited to share about it with you all :) On the first day, our team received a sermon about the prophet Jonah, who ran away from God’s command to prophesize, but God still chased him, knowing that he had the gifts the city needed. Hearing this, I humbly realized I was like Jonah, being unworthy and running away from God in the past, but He had still called me here with the special gifts he had equipped me through his grace, giving me the ability to do something with God that I cannot do myself. A theme on this trip was “It’s not about you”, but it’s about planting seeds with knowledge in trusting that God will do the rest. As it says in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Throughout the trip, our team outreached to students at El Camino College, and passed out flyers in the streets of Lawndale for a VBS Carnival. The carnival was a success, seeing all the warm smiles on the kids’ faces through the dances, games, and skit we had prepared. At the college, we walked around campus with booklets called the four spiritual laws, which we used to spread the gospel. We were able to share our personal testimonies, answer questions, and give spiritual advice to those with different religious views. One moment that stood out was when I talked to a student who felt far the Lord, as I was able talk to him and pray for him. After the prayer, he told me the night before he had actually prayed to God to have someone come to him soon to help pray over him and help him. This taught me the importance of outreach, as you never know who out there might just need one person to help them change their hearts for the Lord. As I spoke to many who felt distant in their faith and not being in a college ministry, I realized how blessed I am to have a such an amazing Christian community, but it also opened my eyes in realizing the need for these communities, as my heart for the lost grew.
