Signature pageant monster with my ladies 9. Makeup touch ups right before my first official photos and interview onstage 10. Telling Walker onstage that I was sad because I wanted to get engaged this year (little did I know he was proposing next week regardless) 11. Smiles walking onstage for opening number as Miss Colorado 12. Future in laws posing with my fat heads (again) 13. Me still not knowing what’s going on 14. Final backstage pics before finals started. I remember being tired but very sad the week was coming to a close. 15. Final backstage selfie check during rehearsals. Feeling a little sad that we had to leave the next day. 16. Destroying Taco Bell at 1 am after crowning 17. Bailey whisking me away for pictures and media (this still happens but I love you) 18. Smiles with Emily before finals started. Hearts were thumping but so pumped for the night. 19. Getting to run and hug my friends for the first time🥹 20. Last but not least. Getting to call my little sister who couldn’t make it out to Miss America. Her bid day and rush week fell during Miss America, so we both didn’t get to be in person to support each other. Seeing her face with all of her Pi Phi gear on was so sweet :,) It’s hard to remember every day from this busy year, so I’ll remember the little memories like this🪽

  3. Warning: This is a total cringy mom brag. I have never cared if my kids were athletic stars or popular - my biggest priority is that they would be kind and that people would see Jesus in them. This week I got the sweetest email from Hollis’ principal about her & two of her friends. I had a good cry in my office when I read it. Their school fosters an environment that is so kind and inclusive and Hollis talks about her friends constantly. She loves them so much. She also got named 8th grade student of the month. She is my quiet middle child between two major extroverts and I’m so grateful that her school has recognized her character.

  2. I have been treasuring a very special moment! On Valentines Day, Erik proposed after we had a sweet dinner with Everett and we are ready to share our engagement! It’s been so sweet to take time sharing the news with family and some friends. He was looking for a ring with our birthstones and came across this beautiful estate piece. I am so thankful for this opportunity to build a life with this incredibly kind, loving, talented, family-oriented man and his wonderful daughter. Blending families after everyone has experienced heartbreak is not easy, but nothing worth having comes easy and there is no man more gentle and encouraging to spend the rest of my days with.. plus, Everett is crazy about him and his daughter Adalynn! I have to give a shout out to my bold and loving friend Lisa @astateofelysian for walking after him at the Amazeum to introduce us after she saw some sparks fly between us while playing with our kids. We quickly learned how much our lives were crossing paths and knew it was a matter of time before we met, but that introduction was truly an answer of prayer. I had told her moments before how i prayed to God about how weary I was and would never have it in me to online date or anything like that… he would have to drop the man in my lap. An hour later, I had his business card in my hand. Yup.. business card. He is not a social media, tech kinda person 😉 and I LOVE that about him. Always present. It’s been a beautiful year making memories and building a foundation. I have so much hope looking at the years to come.
