  1. Anybody else remember the first time their parents fell off the pedestal you placed them on as a child? I spent years judging my mom because of a conversation we had when I was 15. I wasted YEARS of love and appreciation. To her credit my mom tried to the best of her ability to give me as much information as she felt was necessary, but unfortunately she left out an important piece. Likely out of a desire to preserve my perception of my step pops, who I still love and respect to the utmost. There’s no way to know what convos that we have with our kids that will have the largest impact. Do your best. But remember that kids are more forgiving, resilient and adaptable than grown folks could ever be.

  2. My son turns 15 tomorrow. And while I know it’s tough to have a full understanding of what you need/desire from your loved ones at that age, I’m hoping these conversations at least plant a seed that help them arrive to places emotionally, that it took me a long time to get to. Ironically, after our car ride this morning, I realized that I had some outstanding conversations with people in my life that I needed to hash out. Sometimes I forget that just because I know it, doesn’t mean I’m living it. Happy Birthday baby boy. Love you ♾️.

The kid does A LOT as it is, but one of the main reasons why I wanted him here, was because I felt like I had some dope resources he could benefit from. So I got him a job interview, but before he went in I had to see if he was ready. He got the job.

  2. Not gonna lie, I’m really excited for this new space! Neuroticmom happened accidentally and it evolved and grew over time. Because it wasn’t planned, I would purchase new baking items as needed then chuck them in a drawer or cupboard somewhere. Over the last three years it became an organized DISASTER! (only organized because I knew exactly where everything was even though each drawer and cupboard was a total and complete mess! 🙈) But now I have had time to organize every last little detail and I’m truly excited to start baking and decorating cakes again.

  3. WE GOT THE HOUSE! And all I know is I am in love with that yellow door. 💛 We didn’t get to pick any of the finishes but I don’t care. I love it and I can live in it comfortably until our *other* house is done. This house will be fully completed in January, including the basement. (It has a loft, too!)
