  2. Core memory from my NFL career- getting to run out of the tunnel with my brother-in-law Senior Chief Petty Officer Burrows , who served 2 tours in Iraq and 3 different long submarine tours. Grateful for men and women like him who have sacrificed so much for our country’s freedom.   1. This place was an absolute pleasure to visit during my last trip to Iceland. Not so far away from the main highway that it’s hard to reach, yet tucked away just enough to keep the large crowds away. I don’t remember exactly which evening of the week I visited this beauty, but I essentially had the whole place to myself. I spent a good couple of hours exploring around the area while waiting for golden hour (really in Iceland it was golden three hours 😂).   2. When I return to Iceland for another round of adventure, I think it would be so cool to rent a high clearance off-road vehicle. The Highlands have to be one of my favorite spots for photography and exploration, and currently the only means of getting back there are by foot (which would be a very very long trip), by bus, or by off-road vehicles. The river crossings and volcanic dirt roads are not forgiving. This is a photo I took with @davidgayphotography and @andrewdcottle during our first evening staying in the Highlands base camp. We hiked up to a vantage point with views of the one and only road that accesses this campground. It’s one of the most stunning bus rides I’ve ever taken, as it weaves between volcanos, across alien-like landscapes, and through multi-colored mountains!   3. Today, I am retiring from the NHL. I keep pinching myself. 18 years in the NHL, the greatest league in the world. I dreamt of just playing one game as a kid in Minnesota. To have played over 1000 games, lifted the Stanley Cup, been an All Star, played in the Olympics and made some of my best friends; I am profoundly grateful of everything this game has given me. I would have signed up for this career a million times over. To say I have been blessed would be a massive understatement. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way.   3. Desert Rats 100K! Spoilers below ⬇️ • • • I really put it all out there and went after it today. I ran a time of 9:37:33 for 4th place. Arguably my best ultra performance of all time! Sadly I missed out on the UTMB ticket by one place. I’m a bit bummed that I came so close only to fall short BUT that was a fantastic season opener. Many more races to come this year! Thank you to @desertratstrailrunningfestival for putting on such a well curated event. Everything ran very smoothly, the course was beautiful, aid stations were well stocked and everyone involved from volunteers to fellow runners were all so friendly. Also huge thank you to @jacquedmoore crewing for me 💕 couldn’t have done it without you.

  2. All in for a 🥉 at @thetraka yesterday with 340k of muddy, puddle dodging suffering! I’m really happy with my effort yesterday and that’s really all you can do. @karo_migon and @geegeertje got away after the first few hours and were dangling, at times, just minutes in front of me most of the day, giving me a nice carrot to chase. This year felt harder, even with a shorter course. The route was technical, flat, windy and it was a much more competitive field than last year. The pace was pretty mental the whole day and really made the 13hrs fly by, we didn’t even need lights!   3. First race of the year is here! It’s also is my first @midsouthgravel and I can’t believe I’ve never been to this amazing event before. It has nothing to do with the course, the town or (gasp) the pros…it’s the people! What a buzzing group of humans out here.
