So the internet never fails to amaze me with these “with a twist” recipes.. and you know I’m always going to put my spin on it 😵‍💫 But really.. when else are you going to get the chance to try cookies n’ cream bread??? You may hear that and think “thankfully I won’t ” but some of us just have that curious “I gotta try it at least once” mindset lol. Anyway.. this was actually bread. Like.. I think I wanted it to taste like cake and it didn’t so I may have to do a cookies n’ cream french toast to make up for it 👀👀.. yeah backs staying big. We can try again in the Spring 🤭 Oh and fun fact… I used to be an English teacher and I legit just said “supposably instead of supposedly” 😑. It’s burning my ears 😭 Notes: MUST USE SELF-RISING FLOUR. Between 2 and 2 1/2 cups. I feel like 2 and 1/4 cups would’ve been perfect. 350 until brown. Mine was a little over 30. To avoid too much browning, put foil over the top around 3/4 of the way finished Surprisingly, not really sweet. Today, we announced new City policies to protect women and their families and ensure they have access to the medical care they need. This includes changing the City’s health insurance plan to fully include abortion-related services, as well as instituting a comprehensive travel reimbursement policy for the cost of travel to receive healthcare services that aren’t available locally. I have also directed our Adminstration to provide a report, within 30 days, exploring opportunities to decriminalize abortion in Cincinnati, and to prioritize police resources to protect the health and safety of women and medical care providers. Our Supreme Court, Congress, and State Legislature have failed us. Local officials must do whatever we can to protect the women of our communities. And with today’s announcements, we are fighting back.

Loved taking my mom’s big wedding gown & turning it into a modern 2 piece party suit for our “happily ever after party”!!🍻🕺💃🪩 (Also I’ve been a slacker on posting all the projects I did back in the fall so here’s to being better🥂😂) There were so many layers of fabric for me to repurpose - I remember trying it on and being so excited by how much yardage I had to work with! I picked apart & reused her gown’s appliqués & hand sewed them back on in my own design (hence me still sewing it in the car on the way to the party😂) then finished it off with a big bow bustle in the back and a short veil made from the same tulle on her gown!! I purchased new zippers, some boning, and about 1/2 yard of a thicker fabric I needed for the inside structure of the new corset. Other than that, it was all original materials - I actually made the pants out of the lining fabric! Anyone who knows me knows how much my mom means to me - being able to bring her dress back to life and out of the attic was so special!
