  2. Hi! It’s been a minute since introducing myself and I’m seeing a lot of new faces following along 👋🏼 And I have some fun things coming up listed below if you already know my story and want to skip to the end ☺️ After nearly fifteen years of graphic and interior design, my journey has finally led me back to my first love. This summer marks one year since committing to my art practice full-time. Early works included painted portraits, figures, and still-lifes. But today, I embrace a more expressive approach, something I thought I’d never be capable of. Drawing inspiration from solemn moments in nature and intentionally choosing materials that challenge perfectionism, my art explores finding peace in moments of discomfort. Charcoal and soft pastels are messy and somewhat unpredictable, particularly when applied to an unfinished wood grain. My entire process, from making each batch of charcoal from collected twigs to meticulously applying a cold wax finish and building every frame from hand-selected, locally sourced wood, has evolved into a deeply cathartic practice. Each artwork is an invitation for viewers to pause, reflect on their own journey, and embrace any uncertainties ahead. Beyond the easel, I still tap into my affair with design, translating select artworks onto home goods, upholstery, and wallcoverings. My studio is located at @resurrection_avl on Broadway St. in Asheville.
