  2. I did a thing. After years of searching, I finally found a sweet little house nestled in my favorite part of Maine. It’s a simple little cape cod—small enough to tackle some improvements on my own. I drove up this week to say “hi” and “bye” ( 😭) before shutting it down for the winter. It’s perfectly situated on a private road not far from the water. The open two acre plot will be the perfect place for a field of wildflowers and apple trees. I am looking forward to quiet days writing in front of the sunny window, dips at my favorite beach a short drive away, outdoor cooking under the big maple tree, and mostly getting to know the amazing community of people up there. I can’t wait to start painting and filling it with art and antiques. Part of me can’t believe that just 14 years ago we were homeless and living in a two room office. And now I own two homes in both of my favorite places in Maine. I feel very lucky 🍀 but I know it took a lot of hard work, and there will be a lot more to come to take care of it all. But for now I’ll spend the winter months dreaming of spending time there next summer. Can’t wait to share progress!

There’s typically a very full one in the living room - it needs to be pretty substantial to accommodate our always-growing collection of ornaments.   3. A nice weekend, in spite of all the snow and rain. A good chance for us to catch up on some chores around the house and recharge the batteries after a very busy few weeks. And rather a nice little supper on Sunday evening, consisting of ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach, and topped with a bit of brown butter and sage. I always find it that it’s a bit of a challenge to get the butter browned to just the right point without overdoing it.
