This is the peak of her bloom, and it’s amazing to see not just the sheer size of the plant but also how much other life it has attracted — if you look closely you can spot bees, butterflies, and even a hummingbird all around these giant blooms. It’s kind of comforting, in a way, to see that even with death nature brings life. It makes me think about the things I hold onto for too long, afraid that if I let them go that nothing will grow in their place. What if I could trust in the process a bit more?   2. Here’s an update on my neighbor’s #centuryplant agave currently going through its death bloom. My neighbor @thisisbrion and his family have been lovingly caring for this “mamagave” as she prepares to die — since my last video, the stalk has grown another 4’ taller!! He says that dozens of people have been stopping by each day to read his sign and appreciate nature at work — no matter how bittersweet a death bloom might seem.   3. My neighbor’s #centuryplant agave is giving off its “death bloom”. It can take up to 30 years to happen and occurs just once. The plant shoots a gigantic stalk up into the air (between 25-30’) and gives off a final bloom before dropping genetically unique seeds and then, well, dying. “What a grand send off” indeed. It feels like I’m intruding on something as intimate as a plant’s death ritual, yet at the same time.. it’s like totally showing off, right?! 😂✨ It’s interesting to see how different living things handle turning 30. For me, I’ve focused more on stretching before bed and taking a collagen supplement, but I’ll keep in mind that death blooms are always an option.   2. Thank you 2025, If you were to tell me at the beginning of the year everything that was going to happen I wouldn’t have believed it. I came into 2025 confused with a lot of things. I didn’t really feel like myself as I was going through a tough period in my life. I was lost, but motivated in growing and building the life that I wanted. Through all of these travels, I’ve understood what it feels like to just be me. And that is the greatest gift I have received from all of this. It’s a type of freedom that once you achieve, you don’t ever have to go back, and it’s the most freeing feeling in the world. 2025 was the most influential year of my life, and the most eventful. I saw so many places and met so many amazing people. But what it really did was set me on a path. Jumping into 2026 I have never felt this much clarity on the path I’m on. My plans are set and my goals are clear. It’s time to take this to the next level in 2026. I love using their rigatoni for amatriciana or carbonara • @dececco_pasta they mill their own semolina flour (since 1887) and slowly cold dry their pasta, which results in better protein and starch content in the pasta itself. I love their squiggly shapes like fusilli and casareccia • @pastagarofalo is affordable but great quality and also slow dries their pasta at low temps. I love that I can buy this one from Costco in the U.S. Their spaghetti is my favorite! • @barilla isn’t the most flashy pasta company, but it is the world’s most sold pasta brand. It would be wrong to blame The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Anderson Lee Aldrich’s horrific shooting of LGBTQ people at Club Q in Colorado Springs - even though they and their mother are both confirmed members of the Mormon church (see images here). But it would also be wrong to hold the Mormon church blameless for such acts when it continues to uphold doctrines and policies that truly dehumanize LGBTQ people. It would be wrong to blame LDS Church apostle Jeffrey R. Holland IN ANY WAY for this shooting, even though in a post-PULSE Night Club shooting environment he carelessly and unapologetically called for metaphorical “musket fire” in the context of fighting against LGBTQ rights. That association feels deeply unfair to me, in spite of Holland’s reckless, tone deaf, and irresponsible rhetoric. But I do believe this — the dehumanization and othering of LGBTQ people by men who claim to be representatives of Jesus Christ ABSOLUTELY contribute to a climate of LGBTQ hatred and bigotry in this country, and in the world. I believe that Elder Holland needs to apologize for that talk. Elder Dallin H. Oaks should too, since Holland appears to have been quoting Elder Oaks. And the Mormon church needs to reverse its dehumanizing and discriminatory doctrine and policies towards LGBTQ people. Full stop.

A dear friend invited me to hear his talk about how “Inviting others to come unto Christ” might involve multiple paths…including leaving the church (for some). I am excited to support my friend.
