  1. Here’s what YOU can do 👇🌎 Our public lands are not for sale. period. But ESPECIALLY not for more oil drilling and mining ⛽️ Secretarial Order 3418 requires a review of public Federal lands (which includes national monuments, parks, forests and wilderness areas) for “energy exploration and production” aka oil drilling. In addition, over 2,000 NPS employees and 3,400 National Forest employees (10% of their workforce) have been fired. These are the people at our parks and forests maintaining the trails and facilities, teaching workshops, and helping you when needed. Without them, our parks and forests are destined to lack the proper care they need. With increasing tourism in the national parks this is devastating news. Expect long lines, dirty bathrooms, and fewer rangers to provide guidance. It’s never been more important to make your voice heard. If you have ever stepped foot into a national park, national forest, or enjoy being outside on America’s public lands then please consider signing these petitions. It takes 60 seconds and they’re all linked in my bio. You can also comment LAND and I’ll DM you the links to the petitions 🌎 These are OUR lands, our children’s lands, our grandchildren’s lands — they are not for sale. “A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.” —Franklin D Roosevelt PETITIONS (in 🔗🔗) TO SIGN ✍️ @npcapics : Protect our National Park Service Staff. Tell Congress to stand up for park staff and to roll back these job cuts. @wildernesssociety : Millions for Monuments, Not Monuments for Millionaires. Petition calling on Congress and your representatives to urge the government to keep our public land and naitional monuments free from oil driling. @outdooralliance: Ask Lawmakers to Reverse Staffing Cuts at Land Management Agencies. Let’s protect the places we love 🥾 #nationalparks #protectourparks #nationalpark #outdoors #protectoutplanet

  3. FWD oversteer is one of the least practiced transient states in vehicle dynamics. Many track orgs won’t allow large angles. Most people don’t want to waste time bringing a FWD to a drift session. So ideally, one would practice on the simulator or empty parking lot before applying it in a practical setting. In martial arts, basic falling techniques are taught to avoid injury. The plan isn't to fall, but at least you're prepared when the time comes. Oversteer practice past the limit will help build pre-planned decisions in a bailout situation, based on factors the driver has already experienced - rather than coming up with a plan on the spot. It also helps build confidence using oversteer to slightly rotate the car on corner entry, in a more practical use case (shown at 0:23). If you are reading this, could you put a flag emoji 🇦🇽 in the comments so I can tell how many people read the description? It would help a lot. I suppose this video might be rage bait for those who can’t read, even though that’s not the intent. IF someone was to do it on the mountain, ideally it’s on a closed course or a scouted area. Otherwise, it would have to be on a corner where the exact time available to change one’s driving line is known. So for this example, I happen to know that one of the fastest downhill drivers would take 5 seconds to cross paths after they become visible - more than enough to change my line if needed. Anyone attempting this should have similar familiarity of the corners they are choosing, and ensure they actually have a large margin of error. Acura Integra spinout video: @medusa_fk8 (also on YouTube) Note that this was a 2015 video and he has created a reaction video on YouTube reflecting on past mistakes. No need to clown on the guy anymore lol, he is much more experienced now. 3. Happy Earth Day! 🌎 I’m celebrating by dancing🕺🏻✨ Song by @nateandhila 😍⁣ ⁣ 🌎 The first Earth Day was April 22nd, 1970. In 1969 there was a huge oil spill in Santa Barbara that covered the beaches with black sludge and killed many marine animals and birds. (I was born in SB and so was my dad, he remembers getting black tar on his feet from the spill every time he went to the beach for a year after.) That same year, an oil slick caught fire on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, a river polluted by industry since the 1870s whose waters had seen fires before. These events became symbols that sparked an environmental movement in the US. Earth Day was originally planned as a teach-in on college campuses, but once word spread, people became excited about the concept and it grew into a larger movement of both young and older people. Women were at the forefront of organizing the first Earth Day in their own communities. This movement was so strong that President Richard Nixon established the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970, and the Clean Water Act was passed shortly after through bipartisan effort, despite Nixon’s veto.⁣ ⁣ ⏰ In present day, we’re at the precipice of what could be the end or a new beginning. According to Paris Climate Architects and authors of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦, we need to halve our emissions by 2030 and be at net zero emissions by 2040 (2050 at the latest), to limit warming to 1.5 degrees and have a fighting chance to avoid the worst effects of climate change. I believe we don’t have the luxury of thinking that we’re f*cked and pulling up the covers over our faces, and that we need to start taking action in our lives to reduce emissions, and push corporations and governments to act too!⁣ ⁣ ✨ This Earth Day, I’m thinking about trying to make a plan to halve my personal emissions by 2030, which 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 suggests, by deciding to fly less and dreaming about living in a sustainable structure and how I could make that happen in my life 😎⁣ I don’t think LA is zoned for earthships tho lol, maybe we can change the laws? 😛 ⁣How are you celebrating earth day? #earthday #earthday50thanniversary #earthday2020

  2. Grateful that my body can still do these things despite what I have put it through. I did a lot of things that were extremely hard on it, and they led to not only traumatic acute injuries, but wore it down as well. Today I get to read things from knee MRIs like: "High-grade to full-thickness cartilage loss of the lateral patellar facet with subchondral marrow edema, and a peripheral cartilage fissure/flap at the median ridge. Partial-thickness cartilage loss of the lateral trochlea. 2. Mild lateral patellar tilt and adjacent lateral fat pad edema may be seen in the setting of impingement/patellofemoral maltracking." "High-grade full-thickness cartilage fissuring overlying the patellar vertical ridge with subchondral cystic change and focal cartilage delamination extending into the lateral patellar facet measuring 7 mm." Actually, my knees feel stronger than they did 5 and even 10 years ago. But the work is never done. To keep on moving I have to keep strong, listening to my body, and doing what I can to educate myself on its issues. I don't need to summit high peaks or climb high difficulty, but I want to be able to keep moving in the outdoors for many years to come and enjoy special places with special people. Days like this though, when I am in the high peaks, moving over rugged terrain are nice reminders of what I'm capable of. . . . . . . . . . #indianpeaks #rockymountains #nature #runsteepgethigh #dirtbagrunners #insta360 #running #trailrunning #mountainrunning #fellrunning #mountainrunner
