Take a breath. 80% of the things you’re about to write down in this exercise won’t matter in 5 years from now. I also want to be sure that I make note that I’m NOT giving this “advice” as a “I have it all figured out so listen to me” type of post. I have no idea how you parents with MULTIPLE children, full time jobs, and 80k sports obligations etc hold it all together 🙌 You all are a different breed However, That doesn’t mean that just because you’re “holding it all together”, or your life situation is drastically different from the one mentioned above, that you still can’t be stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted. If you’re struggling to keep up, stay organized, or lacking mental clarity- try this 3 step process and let me know in the comments if it helps! 1st: Make a list (written or dictated to your phone) of everything you feel you have to do. 2nd: Make applicable categories to group the items into such as BUSINESS, HEALTH, FAMILY/RELATIONSHIPS, HOUSE/CHORES, APPOINTMENTS, FINANCES, OTHER. Put a ⭐️ next to the most important ones in each category. 3rd: Google how to create your own “URGENT/IMPORTANT MATRIX” to help you gain clarity not just on what really matters, but what needs to get done immediately and what can be scheduled or dumped! Start with the ⭐️s and figure out how to do them first. Then follow directions after that. I know it may seem like it’s “time consuming”, but it’s really TIME WELL SPENT, and it will help you win your days and ultimately help you MAKE MOMENTS MATTER! BREATHE. BELIEVE. ACHIEVE.   3. The longer cancer challenges me, the more it changes me. And while it’s easy to count and be consumed by all the negatives, in a lot of ways I’ve had to come to embrace the positives. Because while I still view most days as a “battle” in a longggg war, sometimes it’s helpful to look at like a game. A game that you can’t actually beat unless you fully come to understand it in its entirety. A game that you can’t win, unless you come out of it a different person than who you were when you went in. Like all games, it certainly isn’t fair, but that’s why it’s forcibly taught me so much more about life. These are a few of the lessons I’ve learned so far in my journey with cancer: 1. Faith Over Fear: despite my outspoken faith, taking my hand off the steering wheel and Leaning on God in the day to day has been the hardest thing yet. However too many things have happened to remind me that there is a greater power at work here that I cant control, nor fully understand. LET GO, and LET GOD has shown me that I don’t have to carry burdens alone. 2. Intentional Rest: in a society that is in constant go mode, Chemo has been the absolute EBRAKE in making me STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN! I’ve learned the value of slowing down and embracing rest as part of God’s plan. 3. Cherish Every Moment: I’ve learned to savor the little things and live each day with purpose. OR as I’ve said a thousand times now MAKE MOMENTS MATTER 4. Impact Over Busyness: TIME is the most valuable commodity. So Focusing on making a difference rather than getting lost in trivial tasks and TO DOS has brought me more peace. However you have to learn to be ok with a little more mess sometimes 😅 5. Gratitude in ‘Get To’s: Shifting from ‘have to’ to ‘get to’ has been the GAME CHANGER in focusing on WHO I WANT TO BE, and WHAT I WANT TO DO!
