  1. I would love to not have to post about our National Monuments, but here we go again. Trump is expected to massively reduce or completely eliminate Bears Ears NM and Grand Staircase-Escalante NM on Monday. We don’t know the details yet, but whatever he does will be massively destructive for the protection of wilderness, cultural sites, and the many rare plants that depend on the monuments’ existence. We have so few wild spaces left in this world and these attacks are truly the opposite of what we need right now. A love of wilderness ought to be a unifying trait in such a divided time, and it is hard for me to picture any Utahns that would be happy about this move.   2. Our native thistles are some of my favorite plants, and we are fortunate to have many happy populations of Cirsium undulatum on the benches surrounding SLC. Unfortunately, it is pretty common to see the aftermath of people trying to kill these plants, I assume because they believe them to be their invasive cousins! While I love the idea of anyone taking the time to consider the plants surrounding them, and engaging with them with a positive intention, killing native plants is clearly not productive.   3. Making stickers at home for my small business part 2! 💓 Ahh my favorite part, when it’s all done 😌✨ I’m really glad I started making my stickers at home. It’s fun to draw something and immediately be able to see it in sticker form and have it ready for a market the next day! It was expensive at the start, but I’ve been doing it for over two years now and have made back the costs completely as their my best selling product! It also allows me to have complete freedom in how I design them, what size, change colors, make lots of them, and sell at a lower cost. It does have its drawbacks. I’ve messed up many a sticker paper in my day. As well as since these are hand made and not made at a big company, these stickers are water resistant and not weather proof!! No matter what the sticker paper says 😅 I just recommend to people if they are going to put it on a water bottle, to hand wash only and dry after to keep in the best condition!
