  1. As a child, when asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, my answer was always “a mother!” I dreamed of the day my house would be full of children. I was convinced that one day I might need a bus to get them around town. 😅 Now even though that dream number of children has decreased a little, 😜 the dream has not. • Being a mother is one of my greatest blessings, but as we know, can be really difficult when you add a job into the mix. I’ve been a “working mom” the entire time, and don’t get me wrong, it’s been incredible, I’ve got the best support system, but children grown so quickly, and life is too short. • Announcement #1, as you’ve seen, I’m pregnant, and expecting baby #4! ❤️ Thanks to all of my clients for their grace and patience as I have been very nauseous, and unable to sit at a computer for long periods of time. • Announcement #2 is the one that seems extremely scary. Starting in May 2024, I will no longer be taking any sessions. April 2024 will be my last month. Now, I may come back in 2025, but I’ve got a lot to figure out first, and if I do, my schedule will be very limited. • Now why is this so scary? As selfish as it sounds, I’m afraid to be forgotten. I’ve worked so hard to get my business where it is today, and the thought of losing friends in the industry, and clients, makes me sad. • Second, the income of photography has been an extreme blessing for my family. My husband is a farmer, and if you know anything about farming, he works long, hard hours, but the job is a big gamble. Living off of one income, is doable, but tricky for a larger family these days. • I’m honestly scared to death! 😥 But I’m ready to give my full attention to my dream. 💋

Once we reached the next camp at almost 16,000’/4900m, @rob.lea fed me a concentrated electrolyte mixture with an oral syringe, 5 mL at a time, every 3 minutes. I was so depleted from vomiting and having to be carried. It was almost two weeks since we left home and still hadn’t made it to basecamp… Gasherbrum II, the world’s 13th highest peaks, has one of the longest approaches to basecamp of any of the 8000m peaks. I knew it would be hard, but I never thought we would have such an epic just getting to basecamp! I am grateful to have a partner who is an excellent caregiver.   2. Utah’s snowpack is deep! We spent the morning of Saturday, February 4, 2023 doing a deep dig to the ground in the backcountry near Alta, UT. We measured 9.5’ or 280 cm. We dig snow pits like these for avalanche forecasting, snow science, exercise, and practice for avalanche rescue scenarios. We filled the pit back in, which you can see at the end of the video. In Utah, 95% of our water comes from our snowpack. Even though we are at about 180% of our normal snowpack, nearly all of our state is still under some form of drought because below-average precipitation and higher-than-average temperatures have kept soil and vegetation drier than historical norms. I’m optimistic that this season will continue to produce but it’s going to take multiple seasons like this to end the drought and save our great salt lake. Snow is water is life. Keep conserving water and urging our policy makers to do more to conserve water, like passing mandates and incentives to reduce water use (especially by agriculture, which accounts for two-thirds of diversions in the Great Salt Lake watershed). #snowiswaterwaterislife Thanks for joining me for this terrible and awesome idea @rob.lea and @darrenalff Don’t forget to like and follow for more.

  3. Merry Christmas from the Southern Hemisphere! @rob.lea and I are so stoked that we are back from Antarctica and on our way home! We had an unexpected clearing in the weather yesterday that allowed us to leave Antarctica, and today, we’re making progress on getting home. #christmasmiracle This is some footage of us doing a celebratory dance after securing an equipment/dining tent cache at Vinson base camp before the storm came in.   1. My name is Julie Jeppson. I’m 44 years old and a mother of 8. I was born and raised in Holladay, Utah alongside 5 other siblings, to Jon and Bonnie Jeppson. I graduated with my BA from the University of Utah after 2 years at Weber State University and 18 months on an LDS mission to Paraguay. Some things I consider accomplishments: Dancing professionally, graduating Cum Laude, writing op-ed articles for the Deseret News, writing and publishing 3 books, having 8 kids in 11 years, losing 400 lbs (not all at once), staying faithful in the gospel after injustice, being a voice for women, starting a podcast, and most recently, enduring a 3 year litigation, 4 day trial, corrupt court appointed “professionals, and surviving maternal deprivation. I was married in 2007 to Alex Boye and we had 8 children. In late summer of 2022, Alex wanted “out” and told me he needed to rediscover himself and took off for Vegas for 2 months. He told me he would let me know what he ultimately decided after his 2 months were “up.” There was little to no contact and I had no idea if or when he would return. He came home after 2 months and said he would never leave again, that he loved us and chose to stay married. I was so relieved and so happy. He had asked me not to tell anyone his “plan,” (even though he called it “our” plan) and I was so glad I hadn’t told a soul. Four days after he told us he would never leave us again, he called me and said “actually i want to go through with it. I have done more for my career in 2 months here in Vegas than I have the entire 15 years I’ve been married to you.” I still didn’t believe him. He had left me once before when Adanna was 6 months old, but it was only for 3 days and he found his way back. He had a history of this. I should have believed his truest desires when we dated. I was too trusting. It’s been close to 3.5 years since he left. We got a ruling this past July. He has objected that ruling, calling the judge “erroneous,” and we went back to court again to “persuade” the judge that he simply “got it wrong.” And we are now awaiting another ruling. Turns out he didn’t want the words “woefully inequitable” to describe him, on record. 🙌🏼

Built in 1909, the Salt Lake Hardware building was once the largest warehouse west of the Mississippi! 🛠️ This 2-acre commercial building is hard to miss if you’re getting on the highway near downtown. In its heyday, the building saw traffic from people, horses, and trains all day long. it was really a one stop shop for any of your household goods. In 1996, the building underwent a major restoration, preserving the integrity of the original old-growth wood beams (cut from Oregon fir) and brick interior.
