Devotion to Christ as King is not new, but the Church gave it great liturgical solemnity when Pope Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 with his encyclical Quas Primas (“In the first”) .to respond to growing nationalism and secularism. He recognized that these societal ills would breed increasing hostility against the Church. The Holy Father’s purpose was to highlight the fact that Christ is King not merely over individuals, but over families and societies, over states and nations, over rulers and tribunals as well. Our duty as Catholics is to hasten the return of the world to His authority by our prayers, our influence, and our actions. We must courageously fight under His royal banner, with the weapons of the spirit, for the rights of God and of His Church. Christ is proclaimed King of all mankind in the Old and the New Testament. David, Isaiah, Daniel, and Zacharias clearly predicted the kingship or the kingdom of the future Messiah. At the coming of Christ the Angel Gabriel announced that “of His Kingdom there shall be no end.” Our Lord Himself declared His kingship before Pilate. But His kingdom, though in this world, was not to be of this world. As man He is Lord over all kings and over all human possessions. Yet He is “king of kings and Lord of lords,” and on the last day He will present Himself together with His kingdom to His Father, when all His enemies shall have been put under His feet. And so today we ask ourselves, is Jesus Christ really our king? Does He have authority in our lives? Do we acknowledge that everything we call our own really belongs to Him? How well do we use the things we call our own that really belong to God?” It’s one thing to call Christ our King, it’s another to truly be under his authority. Let us pray that He will truly be our King in all things. “Come Lord Jesus, reign in our hearts! Let us begin to experience victory and paradise even now!”

  3. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The term “Eucharist” originates from the Greek word eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving. In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. The whole Christ is truly present — body, blood, soul, and divinity — under the appearances of bread and wine, the glorified Christ who rose from the dead. This is what the Church means when she speaks of the “Real Presence” of Christ in the Eucharist. The Lord Jesus, on the night before he suffered on the cross, shared one last meal with his disciples. During this meal our Savior instituted the sacrament of his Body and Blood. He did this in order to perpetuate the sacrifice of the Cross throughout the ages and to entrust to the Church a memorial of his death and resurrection. The Institution of the Eucharist is written down in the four Gospels below: Matthew 26:26-30 Mark 14:22-26 Luke 22:14-20 John 6:22-59 (The Bread of Life Discourse) Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist as spiritual nourishment because he loves us. By eating the Body and drinking the Blood of Christ in the Eucharist, we become united to the person of Christ through his humanity. “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him” (Jn 6:56). In being united to the humanity of Christ, we are at the same time united to his divinity. Our mortal and corruptible natures are transformed by being joined to the source of life. The transformed bread and wine are truly the Body and Blood of Christ and are not merely symbols. When Christ said “This is my body” and “This is my blood,” the bread and wine are transubstantiated. Though the bread and wine appear the same to our human faculties, they are actually the real body and blood of Jesus.

The recipe is below! 💗 What you need 🥩✨ 1. 2.25lb Boneless Beef Chuck Roast 2. 3 Garlic Cloves 3. 1 Medium Yellow Onion 4. Carrots (I used 3) 5. Minced Parsley 6. Thyme 7. Baby gold potatoes 8. 4 Cups of Beef broth 9. 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Paste 10. 3 Tablespoons of Real Butter 11. 1/2-1cup of red cooking wine 12. Kinders cowboy butter seasoning 13. White pepper 14. Beef bouillon Steps 🥩✨ 1. Prep your veggies first, wash and peel your carrots, wash your potatoes, slice and dice your onion, mince your garlic, and wash your thyme. 2. Season your chuck roast on both sides with kunders cowboy butter seasoning, white pepper, and beef bouillon. Cook on medium heat for 4 minutes on each side until you get a nice crust. Once you get a nice crust remove from heat and set aside for now. 3. In the same pan, add your onions. Sautee for 4 minutes and add your minced garlic. Sautee until fragrant. 4. Add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and mix well with onions and garlic. 5. After 2 mins add your red wine and let it reduce for 3 minutes on medium heat. 6. Once your red wine reduces, Add 4 cups of beef broth and scrape the bottom to get all the flavor. 7. Season your broth to taste, mine needed a little more salt, so I added beef bouillon. 8. Add your beef roast, carrots, baby gold potatoes, and thyme and three tablespoons of butter. Cover and cook for 3 hours at 350 degrees. 9. Once out the oven, remove as much oil as you can, shred your roast and serve on top of mashed potatoes. 10. Enjoy 🥩✨ #potroast #dinner #easydinner #easyrecipes #dinnerideas
