Thank you guys for locking in with me to get the job done. @sbdsheffield was a dream come true for me. I’m at a loss for words to explain the experience. This is everything I dreamt powerlifting could be when I first competed in 2015. I’m beyond thankful to be able to step on that platform and show the world my passion. I want to thank @petespence and the @sbdapparel team for all their hard work. You guys are truly making history every time this event is held. The past year has been difficult for me but I have continued to push through with a smile on my face because I’m just grateful to be doing something I love. NAPF 2025 RECAP WORLD RECORD TOTAL @ 93KG TOTAL: 918KG/2024LBS (WORLD RECORD) BW: 91.8/202LBS SQUAT - 355.5KG/783LBS (WORLD RECORD) BENCH - 207.5KG/457LBS DEADLIFT - 355KG/782LBS There were some things prior to the meet that didn’t go as planned (IYKYK 🇬🇾).. BUT I was still able to put together a world record total in my debut as a 93KG lifter. These moments aren’t achievable without a group effort. @joeyflexx7 continues to show me why choosing him as my coach back in 2017 was the single best decision I’ve made in powerlifting. @phamishedcoach has me on point with nutrition and proper game day fuel while @goseeandy keeps me upright and pain free. I got the job done BUT I know this is my floor. I can be so much BETTER. This performance was amazing for different reasons but it also lets me know what’s possible once I settle in. Sky’s the limit. The love I got at NAPF was incredible. I’m honored to have the support I have from the powerlifting community and it’s always something I think about when I’m tirelessly working in the gym. Je pensais avoir suffisamment travaillé sur mon squat mais j’avais encore trop d’irrégularités techniques pour sortir le squat dont j’avais besoin pour être en position de gagner. Ma plus grosse fierté c’est que malgré l’échec au squat, malgré que ça ait compliqué mon match, j’ai pas lâché. Je me suis battu jusqu’au bout en étant persuadé que je pouvais toujours gagner. Et je ressors grandi de la plus grosse compétition de l’histoire du powerlifting. Je tiens à remercier tous les autres athlètes incroyables contre qui j’étais ce jour là. Vous m’avez poussé, vous m’avez montré mes lacunes et ça me servira pour devenir meilleur. Merci à vous de m’avoir soutenu. C’est une chance incroyable d’avoir autant de personnes derrière moi qui me poussent. Désolé de ne pas avoir ramené ce titre de champion des champions. J’ai essayé de toutes mes forces, je me suis battu jusqu’au bout mais je n’étais pas assez fort ce jour-là. Maintenant plus qu’à retourner au boulot et on prépare la défense du titre mondial en Juin. Ekip 💜 🇬🇧 It was an incredible experience. In terms of sport’s performance, I’m a bit disappointed. I thought I had worked enough on my squat but I still had too much technical irregularities to be able to squat what I needed to be in contention of winning. My pride lies in the fact that despite missing my squat which lowered significantly my chances of winning, I didn’t give up. I fought until the very end, thinking I could still win. And after the biggest competition in powerlifting history : I’m stronger than ever. I sincerely want to thank all of the other incredible athletes I competed against. You guys pushed me, you showed me my weaknesses and what I need to become stronger. Thank you to everybody that cheered for me, that supported me. You guys do much more for me than you could imagine. I’m sorry I didn’t get that champion of champions title, I gave it my best. I just wasn’t strong enough on that day. Now back to work and I will soon start my prep for the world title defense in June. Ekip 💜

  2. It is always difficult to judge a famous athlete with very massive thighs. But it is even more difficult to judge him in his hometown. If you judge strictly - the athlete's fans will be offended, if you are loyal - people will accuse you of judging of the local athlete very kindly, taking into account all his titles. I always stick to the rules of the federation that holds the tournament. I try to judge all athletes equally. There were no questions at all to the bench press or the deadlift of the @thorbjornsson, everything was done perfectly. On the third attempt in the squat I gave him a red light. Because even from the position of the central judge, I saw that it was a little bit high. The side judge thought the same. That is why the attempt was not counted. It was a really great performance of the Thor considering that this was the first big powerlifting meet in his career. He totaled 1100 kg, raw with knee wraps. That day Thor was physically ready for 470-250-440. But the mistake on depth in the squat and callus in the deadlift did not make big plans come true. Hafthor has an excellent technique in all three competitive exercises. He only needs to work on his depth a little bit. Psychologically, it is always difficult for an athlete to be 100% confident at the first competition, so that I can predict that at the second one @thorbjornsson will total much more and improve each lift significantly.

  3. Last heavy squat 463 lbs.(would be WR) last week in preparation for USPA Nationals in Las Vegas this Thursday. I was feeling really good going into this meet until last Wednesday when I tore my Serratus Anterior during last heavy DL session. Our Kabuki team has thrown everything at it this past week in an attempt to heal it but competing will be a game day decision.
