  2. One of the biggest perks of living in SF, is having easy access to all these beautiful locations. My husband and I have a car, and these are the places we frequent whenever we need a quick break or change of scenery. This compilation is of all the places you can go to within a 2 hr driving distance and all are on the other side of GGB. The drives are beautiful, the scenery is unmatched, and the vibes are super chill, if you don’t have a car, you can always rent one and make it into a weekend day trip! Locations & some recs — 1.Trojan Point, Mount Tamalpais, go on a low fog day after checking the mt tam live cam, so that you can get this view, on your way out stop at Mill Valley and grab a bite at Depot cafe 2. South Beach overlook, Point Reyes, I honestly don’t have words to describe this place, but do recommend having a meal at @duewestpointreyes on your way back to the city 3. Rodeo Beach, super quick drive from SF, black sand beach, lots of parking, and chances of spotting dolphins! 4. Sea Lion Resting Place, Jenner, pack your sandwiches, take your camping chairs and just sit and soak in the view. 5. Top of four vista points on Conzelman Road - possibly the best view point in the Bay Area for seeing the city against the low fog, check the Salesforce camera before you go 6. Muir Beach Overlook, again an incredible picnic spot, go on an early morning, you’ll be stunned at the vast views from this spot 7. Mt Tam watershed, a hidden gem in Fairfax, go up here without a plan and just explore the area, right next to this spot are some picnic benches and countless hikes. 8. Nicasio - next time you’re driving up to Nor Cal, drive through Lucas Valley and Nicasio for these insane views 9. The other side of Hawk Hill, drive up to Hawk Hill in Marin, park your car and then walk through the tunnel to get this view. Again especially majestic on a foggy day 10. Lake Lagunitas - another gem from the Mt Tam watershed area 11. East Peak Mt Tam - watching that fog flow is SURREAL to say the least 12. Sausalito - the closest town to get to from SF for a complete change of scenery, would recommend the ferry ride though. Shot on iPhone

  1. This BLACK HISTORY MONTH, SF Travel and the Museum of the African Diaspora are excited to showcase six incredible Black art experiences to explore in San Francisco’s SoMa District. 📍Museum of the African Diaspora (685 Mission St): MoAD is currently showcasing three exhibitions: “JoeSam.: Text Messages,” marking the first Bay Area museum exhibition of the beloved self-taught San Francisco artist JoeSam.; “Spectrum: On Color & Contemporary Art,” curated by Key Jo Lee, MoAD’s inaugural Chief of Curatorial Affairs and Public Programs, featuring an international group of Black artists exploring color in diverse ways; and the newest installment in MoAD’s Emerging Artists Program series, Lishan AZ’s solo exhibition “Eugene’s Cove,” dedicated to historical events and mythology from across the diaspora. 📍San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (151 3rd St): Now at SFMOMA, Zanele Muholi’s “Eye Me” exhibition explores gender identity, representation, and race through photography. Focused on the LGBTQ+ community in South Africa, Muholi’s work addresses the challenges and beauty of queer existence, spanning from 2002 to the present. As the first major West Coast showcase of Muholi’s art, it offers a comprehensive view of the impactful project to Bay Area audiences. 📍Jonathan Carver Moore (966 Market St): “Torn Asunder” by Andew Wilson is currently on view at Moore’s gallery. The exhibition reimagines the Black male form, infusing it with introspection, meditation, and prayer. Using film photography, double exposure, and prose, this collection challenges societal perceptions of Black men, aiming to soften the socialized hard exterior. 📍Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Waterfall (750 Howard St): Located in the center of the city, within the Yerba Buena Gardens, this memorial not only commemorates the life and legacy of Dr. King but also stands as a powerful reminder of the continuous fight for racial equality and social justice.
