  1. the doodle grid technique! ๐ŸŽจ hereโ€™s how I get my murals up on larger exterior walls where a projector just wouldnโ€™t work! I get asked about this all the time, so this is the surprisingly simple solution.โฃ โฃ the gist is that you first fill up the wall with random marks (doodles), take a picture of the wall, superimpose your design over that picture, and then see where your design intersects with the doodles on the wall. for example, in my design, the edge of my white bubble intersected with the nose of the dog and a duck we had doodled, so I knew to draw the bubbleโ€™s curve along those intersection points. then eventually, you go point by point through your design until you can get the entire thing up and start painting. โฃ โฃ usually I run out of things to doodle so I just end up doing the alphabet over and over, but it was really fun to paint with my awesome assistant @yooohon, who is responsible for some of the funnier and more random doodles on the wall (the quadratic formula, squidward, his fish boy OC). โฃ โฃ other โ€œgetting design onto wallโ€ solutions include a projector, but for these larger exterior walls itโ€™s harder to get enough distance, height, and an electrical source in the middle of the street. thereโ€™s also freehanding but I personally find this method to be less stressful!โฃ โฃ thanks to Johann for the assist, @notoldbut for the drone footage, and @building180 for project production ๐ŸŒธโœจ๐ŸŽโœŒ๏ธ

I love combining digital + analog artforms - so hereโ€™s how I mixed ceramics, animation, and my favorite cat to create this very special piece with @adobecreativecloud ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ› I pretty much have Photoshop and Illustrator open at all times on my computer so it was super cool to collab! I made the animal crossing pansy table! ๐ŸŒธ Iโ€™ve needed a side table for a while, couldnโ€™t find one that I loved, and then remembered that I have free will and can just DIY my ownโ€ฆ henceโ€ฆ pansy table!! as a huge fan of ACNH Iโ€™ve always loved these tables from the game! I donโ€™t have pansies on my island so I had to take great efforts to: 1) acquire pansy flowers and then 2) learn the recipe so I could make them. my irl design is a pretty simple build, just four pieces that I designed in illustrator and cut out โ€” and Iโ€™m making a few more flower tables as displays for my and @sailorhgโ€™s art show this summer! thanks to @maker.nyc and @shirleywu.studioโ€™s alex for troubleshooting the design w me :) anyway, Iโ€™m happy to slowly fill my home with more and more animal crossing furniture :) pansy table sparks joy~
