  1. A MUST experience in Ottawa restaurant. If you haven’t been to @pitabellkabab yet this is your sign! Wow. It’s a 10/10 Ottawa experience for me. The quality and value for price is top notch. I hadn’t been since 2019 and they’ve since moved to their new location which is beautiful inside. I’m so glad I finally went back. I highly recommend: 1. the Pita Bell Mix Family Platter ($89.99) and serves 5 people. We were a group of 4 and absolutely had enough left over for a whole extra meal, and we all left stuffed! The food is so good you can’t stop eating. The platter comes with 10 charcoal bbq skewers - 4 kabab (minced meat), 3 shish taouk (chicken breast) and 3 filet mignon steak skewers; so much incredible rice with almonds and raisins, salad, hummus, garlic sauce, and pita. And if you are a different size group, they have smaller and bigger options too. 2. Kunafa ($8.49) for the small can be shared with 2-3 people depending on how full you are. We were sooo stuffed from our kabab platter but couldn’t resist. 3. Tea pot ($7.99) this tea was so delicious! The staff showed us that in one pot is the tea concentrate, and the second pot stacked is the water to dilute it to your taste. It’s meant to be served with the dessert but we had it from the start of our meal and I really loved it together. 4. Lastly if you’ve never had the Turkish ‘cream soda’ Uludag Gazoz - I highly recommend trying this as well. 📍 1696 Carling Ave. Ottawa Pro tip: go with people you love and it tastes even that much better! This restaurant was recommended to me by @halalgirls613 wayyy back when we both started our pages in 2019 and it will always remind me of all the delicious places and foods (and more!) I’ve learned about because of her. #ottawathingstodo #halalottawa #ottawahalal #turkishcuisine #turkishfood #ottawaeats #turkishkebab #kebab #ottawafoodie #kebabs #613eats #ottawawest #halalfood #turkishrestaurant #ottawarestaurants #ottawatourism #ottawaontario #613food #ottawafun #ottawafoodscene #kunafa #letseat #foodstagram #exploreottawa

  3. Ottawa’s newest ramen shop just opened! Last Tuesday I was invited to @kintonramen ’s soft opening at their first Ottawa location on Elgin St. This Toronto ramen icon has finally landed in Ottawa. We loved their appetizers/sides and had two great big bowls of comforting ramen. Peep my recommendations below for your visit 👇 1. Do not skip the takoyaki and karaage (fried chicken). The takoyaki are buttery soft and melt in your mouth. The karaage comes in big fat chunks and is so juicy! We ordered the spicy version which is superrrrrrrrr saucy and not too spicy - highly recommend both of these. If you’re a less saucy lover, just ask for the sauce on the side or get the original :) 2. When ordering ramen definitely pick the thick noodle option. They just have a little extra bounce/chew and elevate the ramen experience. As for broth we tried the spicy beef (it’s a special at the moment) and the miso pork. I can’t recommend getting the spicy broth options enough. Whether it’s the chicken, pork or beef option, the heat just adds another delicious layer to the broth and a little itty bitty tingle. Yum. 3. Add a seasoned egg! Sooo perfectly jammy. A must. 4. Don’t skip the dessert. Simple but unique flavoured slices of cheesecake. We got the black sesame and yuzu. A great way to end the meal. Because it was soft opening they didn’t have any ramune sodas or special iced teas just yet, but they’ll be stocking them up soon and I would definitely add a lychee iced tea! 📍 216 Elgin St. I am working in p a i d partnership with the Kinton Ramen Ottawa location to support the marketing of this location. #kintonramen #idigelgin #ramen #ottawa #ottawarestaurants #ramensoup #ottawafoodie #ottawaeats #uottawalife #elginstreet #downtownottawa #takoyaki #karaage #ramensoup #myottawa #carletonu #613eats#ramenshop #japanesecuisine #ottawaeats #exploreottawa #ottawaramen #ottcity #karaagechicken #uottawa #noodles #narcityottawa

  3. A miscarriage is the exact same as losing a family member, but instead many people will still be asked “can you still come in to work on Monday?” Our current standard of care for those that miscarry is subpar at best. Patients being told that there is nothing they can do to prevent miscarriages and they should keep trying the same thing over and over even after 5+ consecutive miscarriages and no in-depth testing or discussions to help uncover what is actually going on. Patients miscarrying at home and being denied imaging afterwards until they develop a severe infection. I would love to waive a magic wand through the air and see this all change, but I cannot. So, instead I want to share with you some valuable notes that can make a significant difference: Don’t feel pushed that you have to “Get over it.” In my experience “going through it” often helps in the long run. Acknowledging the challenge, the heartbreak and taking the time and support you need to help gradually move forward without forcing to forget or suppress emotions. Loss and bereavement counselling can be invaluable here. THERE ARE MODIFIABLE RISK FACTORS! We know that there are risk factors in lifestyle, hormonal disorders, reproductive disorders that may increase the risk of miscarriage. Speak with a knowledgable healthcare provider on this topic to help counsel you and your partner on what evidence based changes can help to increase the chances of a live birth. Treatment is available! Contrary to what many are told, there are well researched interventions that can help to increase the likelihood of a live birth. This includes preconception care as well as early pregnancy care. To name a few: reproductive microbiome dysbiosis has demonstrated a significant relationship with miscarriage risk, as well as sperm DNA fragmentation rates. We also shared a new published scientific review on the benefits of supplemental progesterone for Couples with recurrent pregnancy loss. link in Bio👉🏽 #miscarriage #recurrentpregnancyloss #pregnancy #rainbowbaby #fertilityjourney

  2. 🔆TODAY is my Birth Day. It’s not the day I was born, but rather the day that I decided to finally step into MY TRUE BEING. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆This day, four years ago, was the last time I woke up with a hangover. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆It was the last time I woke up, regretting my actions and questioning my worth. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆It was the last time I believed that to be fun, confident, happy, or outgoing - I needed to have a drink. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆It was the last time I put myself through an out of body experience, where I wasn’t in control of who I was- my thoughts, my words or my actions - and now I can’t imagine EVER feeling that feeling again. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆This day, four years ago, I finally realized that I only wanted to be my BEST SELF. That I wanted to show up for HER everyday, BE her everyday, and share ONLY her beauty with the world and the wonderful people in my life. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆Our society normalizes poising ourselves to the point of getting blackout drunk, and exhibiting completely uncharacteristic behaviours, as a ‘typical’ and ‘acceptable’ behaviour for young adults. ⁣ ⁣ 🔆And as older adults, our culture normalizes the ‘fix’ of a cocktail or glass of wine to end a bad work day or to drown our sorrows and lighten our mood- all those lame country kitchen signs about wine time and beer o’clock, those ‘funny’ mugs saying it’s not really coffee... the ‘hilarious’ memes about how much alcohol it must have taken for all the parents to survive their kids being home from school during a pandemic...Alcoholism is joked about far more often than it’s taken seriously or even acknowledged. DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??? Should I further explain what all of this reinforces or can you see North American drinking culture for what it is?? ⁣ ⁣ 🔆P L E A S E N O R M A L I Z E S O B R I E T Y - so I can stop answering 21 triggering questions every time I tell someone I don’t drink. ✌🏼
