  1. ✨RECIPE✨ It’s rainy af today so here’s a comforting dinner recipe that’ll keep you nice and cozy this Fall: French Onion Inspired Pot Roast! 🥩 We had this as a meal prep dinner with roasted broccoli and cauliflower but you can also enjoy this with crusty bread, mashed potatoes or even rice! It is absolutely yum!! 😋 French Onion Pot Roast (serves 5-6) - 2.5-3 lb chuck roast - salt and pepper - olive oil - 1/2 stick butter (4 tbsps) - 2 large yellow onions sliced - 8 oz baby bella mushrooms sliced - 5 cloves garlic minced - 1 tbsp flour - 1/4 cup sherry cooking wine - 1 tsp dried thyme - 2 bay leaves - 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce - 3 cups beef broth - 8 oz bag shredded mozzarella or provolone Directions: Preheat the oven to 325. Season the beef chuck on all sides with salt and pepper. Add olive oil to a large heat safe casserole pot or dutch oven and heat to medium. Once hot, sear the beef on both sides until golden brown and set aside. Add the butter to the pot, once melted, add the sliced onions and season with a pinch of salt. Sauté for about 10 minutes until softened then add the mushrooms and garlic and sauté for 5-7 minutes then add the flour. Cook the flour for a minute or two and add the sherry wine, thyme, bay leaves, worcestershire sauce, a dash of black pepper and beef broth. Stir well with a wooden spatula, making sure to scrape the bottom to release the browned bits. Carefully place the beef chuck in along with its juices, ladle over the broth, onions and mushrooms and cover. Place in the oven and braise for 3 hours. Once done, remove from oven, skim out some of the oil and fat that’s floated to the top and shred the beef. Top with the shredded cheese and place back in the oven. Broil for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Pizza - Sound on to hear that crunch! 🔈 I’ve heard how difficult it is to score a pizza from @akpizzaguy as they only serve 60 pies a day (that sells out in minutes) but thankfully I lucked out on my first try through their pre-order system linked on their IG page! 😅 You may or may not line this style of “food drop” but I get it when it comes down to quality product and a small staff running the shop. It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our restaurant and home for repairs and renovations needed after a water pipe burst above the restaurant during last weekend’s freezing temperatures. We learned this morning that the damage extends beyond what we originally thought and were informed this morning that we must close ASAP to begin repairs. All upcoming reservations will be cancelled and online reservations will be closed indefinitely until we know when we’ll be able to open again. When I started Musang, I knew that this wasn’t going to be easy and a part of me loves the challenges that come with this crazy life. For those of you that know - you know. We can’t control the way things happen, but we can do our best to control our reactions to what comes our way. We made it through opening in 2020 and all of the things that ensued the past couple of years. And we will continue to share our culture, food, stories in all the ways we can. This isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes, as we all have been looking forward to serving you and your loved ones - we also understand that many of you have been waiting weeks to dine with us and are sorry to say it will be a few weeks longer before we are able to share our hospitality with you. We ask that you take this opportunity to go visit @kiligseattle and to support all the small businesses that we love.   2. 👋🏻 I have been tragically locked out of this account but we back baby! ✨And of course back with Mexican food & a view. 📍 Grab Malena’s Taco Shop in upper Queen Anne and take it to one of the most underrated view points in all of Seattle at 5th & Lynn st. 🌃 🌮 I have to say, their fried shrimp tacos are good, but my boyfriend got their chili relleno burrito 🌯🌯 (which I wish I got a photo of) and that was AMAZING and I’m pretty sure I ate 90% of it 😂 so if you go, i’d def recommend that! Another hot pot spot has opened in Seattle’s Chinatown/International District! @crazy_monk_seattle has individual hot pot which is perfect for the days you don’t want to share. I really enjoyed their unique broths—the spicy tomato (mild) was rich and flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the qiaojiao beef broth was herbal and peppery. Broths start at $7.50 each with an option to add unlimited offal (which I learned was innards), and I think I’d try that next time to make the broths even more hearty. Sauce bar is also a must, so the price does start to add up, but that’s pretty standard these days. Huge selection of wagyu meats, veggies, tofu and more. Also loved the wagyu fried rice. It was so buttery and tasty, I would come here just to order that for takeout 😅 PS: Reservations are available online! Meet Terrell Jackson, also known as @catfishjackk , he’s a Seattleite You Should Know ❤️ His business is Jackson’s Catfish Corner in Seattle’s Central District. @jacksonscatfishcorner was started in 1985 by his grandparents. But after the original closed down in 2014, Terrell’s goal became reviving his family’s legacy. Terrell is full of love, and his smile is brighter than his signature chain, a piece he credits to the late D’Vonne PIckett Jr. When I asked about his business he said “I want people to come in as customers, and leave as family.” The iced tea here is next level, and if you want to try a lot of their food, the go to item is the Captain’s Platter. It’s enough for two people. It has Catfish, prawns, hushpuppies and fries. And don’t forget a side of greens.   3. Banana Pudding Matcha Latte, Mango Matcha Latte, & Flan 📍 Phê x Phin Pop Up 🍵 ⁣ ⁣ Phê had a pop up this past weekend at Phin in Seattle. They were featuring some of their signature drinks and items that will be on their menu once their Capitol Hill location is open! Their banana pudding matcha latte was so creamy and tasty. The mango matcha latte was delicious, sweet, and fruity. I’ve never had flan in coffee before but that was a nice treat with the coconut cream on top. I got to check out their new location last weekend and this location is much bigger then the Seattle one! I stand by this and stay that Kobuta & Ookami is the best katsu in Seattle.
