I decided to try out some really complicated cuts that took way too long. You might notice that the tiles are all alternating inverted colors, made with lots of vintage jewel tone transparent textured glass. I cant wait to see how the refractions look at night once I finally get a flameless candle to put inside (im too afraid to try a real candle because it might get heat cracks and I don’t wanna play with fire like that).   2. For those of you who have been waiting for the final photos… here they are. 🤍 What started as a really sad story turned into something pretty cool. She bought a prom dress she was excited to wear, only to find out she’d basically been left out of prom by her friends. After hearing her story, I offered her a photo shoot so she could have a really beautiful moment that she deserved. What none of us expected was how many people would connect with this story and after spending the afternoon with her, I can tell you that she has such a good heart and such a positive attitude about everything that happened. No bitterness. Just grace, talent, and moving on to the next chapter. And another silver lining is that these photos now get be for more than just prom. She’s an incredibly talented singer/songwriter, so we also created images she can use for her upcoming music releases! Bonus! Sometimes terrible moments turn into better things than we could’ve imagined. Sometimes rejection is just redirection.   3. My @littlecrittercrew foster rats are still looking for a home! They are such sweet girls and it’s been a joy to see them come out of their shells after enduring a sad start when they were just babies abandoned in a park. They were so tiny that they looked like little lizards, so I named them Newt, Gecko, Dragon, Chamille, Lizzie and Sal. They can be broken up into two smaller groups— what’s most important is that they find loving homes! Is that with you?   1. Sellwood just got even sweeter 🍓✨ Come with me to visit @yours.truly.pdx the most darling new coffee shop + wine bar in the neighborhood. Every little detail feels so intentional, from the cozy corners and soft lighting. I was immediately smitten even from the outside. They’re pouring @proudmaryusa coffee (aka the good stuff), and the bread? It’s from the incredible @taborbread—fresh and rustic. I had the strawberry ricotta toast and I swear it tasted like spring on a plate not to mention matched my outfit that day. They had yogurt and a breakfast plate as well as other pastries to choose from too. This spot is already high on my list to come back to in the evening with girlfriends or maybe for a sweet little date. I’m picturing candlelight, a glass of wine from their incredibly thoughtful list, a little dish of olives, and that perfect bread + butter combo. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger and then come back to again and again.
