  1. Head tattoos are not easy.. for the client or artist 😅. Read for more info if you’re interested in learning about the process! -the skin is very textured with pores/hair follicles that make it slightly more difficult to get the ink in -because it’s harder to get the ink in, we have to be careful of “overworking an area” where the skin gets irritated from too many passes in the same area -mapping it on to the head requires precision in folding and pressing on the right spots in order to not skew the design considering it’s very round so when applying the stencil paper you are basically trying to mold a flat surface on to a round surface. Or you can just freehand and it’s easier :) -you need to wipe a certain direction to follow the direction of the hair follicles or your napkin gets stuck in the pores 😅 -the positioning of the client can be more stressful than the tattoo itself as they need to be either sitting with their head down or laying face down with their head tilting up -the vibrations on the skull can cause headaches to the client -there’s a glare on bald heads sometimes which can make it difficult to see clearly for the artist -head tattoos may have the tendency to fade faster because the sun hits the top of the head first and the constant scrubbing while showering -if you’re not usually bald, the tattoo won’t show most of the time 😂 -the skin there is thin and so close to the skull so while it may be difficult to get the ink in most of the time, it’s also possible to accidentally get too much ink too quick if your needle hits a bonier thinner section or if your needle is too far out which can cause a darker spot you may not have intended. Hope this was interesting/educational for anyone (artists, clients, or just a curious fella). If you have more questions comment below!

  1. Metallica plays a parking lot show in San Jose. San Jose, 1996. Today is Kirk Hammett’s 63rd birthday. He’s one of the nicest, most genuine, and most heartfelt guys in Bay Area metal, and maybe even in all of metal. He joined Metallica in April of 1983 when he was just 20 years old. On June 4, 1996, Metallica played a surprise show in the parking lot of the San Jose Tower Records at 871 Blossom Hill Road across from Oakridge Mall. After a morning announcement on local radio, news of the free show spread across the Bay Area, and once MTV News picked it up, it went worldwide. About ten thousand people showed up. The band planned to perform three flatbed truck shows that day to celebrate the release of their sixth album Load. One in San Jose, one in San Francisco, and one in Sacramento. Only two happened because San Francisco canceled at the last minute. Tower Records was chosen for all of the stops so fans could watch the show and then walk inside to buy the record. Tower Records manager Barbara Williamson, who has since passed away, later said that city officials told her no permit was needed. But one week after the performance, San Jose city attorney Joan Gallo held a news conference announcing that charges were being filed against Bill Graham Presents, Elektra Entertainment, and Tower Records. Offenses included disturbing the peace, failing to secure permits, and not obtaining approval for temporary street closures and amplified sound. The city also billed Tower Records seven thousand dollars for police, fire, and emergency medical services. “I think the destruction that was caused deliberately and purposefully to get publicity and take advantage of this community needs to be dealt with in a criminal form,” Gallo said at the time. Police were not happy either. Thousands of fans packed the parking lot across from Oakridge Mall, creating a traffic jam. Highway 87 backed up, and traffic at Santa Teresa and Blossom Hill was at a standstill for hours. This 1996 strip mall concert remains an indelible part of Metallica lore and Bay Area music history. stock footage 🎥: MetConcerts100

  1. The hospital I currently work at notified us that they will be going with a new provider group. And that they will no longer utilize ER PAs. This news came right before Christmas. We were allll devastated and blindsided ofc 🥺 I’ve had some time to reflect and here are 𝟳 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙 from this experience. This is my first time going through this so I’m no expert but I do hope it’s helpful: 1. Choosing to become a PA was the 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 because we can choose any specialty to apply to 2. It’s a good idea to have a 𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙢 𝙟𝙤𝙗 on the side for when these situation arise 3. Mom was right…always have some 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮𝙨. It’ll save you a lot of stress (and so you don’t settle for just any job) 4. 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩 to secure limited positions. I gave myself a day to cry. By the next day, I updated my resume and applied to jobs 5. 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 you’ve interviewed with in the past. If they had a good impression of you, they’re likely to move you forward with open positions 6. Our hospitals and specialties may change but our 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚- which is taking care of patients 7. It’s okay to be sad and feel anxious. Change is hard, but…𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨🤍 🔖 #prepa #physicianassistantstudent #paschool #premedstudent #gradstudent #physicianassociate #firstgen #viet #palife #medlifestyle #medhumor #emra
