  1. 2 years ago, @emiilly.rosee and I were about to collaborate for the summer making fitness videos and working together. I’ll never forget her phone call with all of her plans and excitement that she had for her YouTube page, we had our first shoot day planned and everything. But then she called about a week after our talk, and asked if we could shoot “this coming weekend” then went to explain that she had just been diagnosed with Cancer. I was on the next flight. Emily was a huge Shawn Mendes fan and the running joke her and I had for years since we met while I was the videographer for the UCF dance team, was I’d always comment “ @shawnmendes “ on her posts so that he might see it. I’ll never forget making this video for her right before her treatments began and I knew exactly the song that I was going to use for the edit. “In My Blood”, a song about not being able to quit even when circumstances might make it easy too. I have openly shared several times on my Social media, that there are times where I can get feeling really down, but the name has always popped in my mind in my lowest moments was “Emily”, in those times where life was getting tough on my end, I always remembered she was fighting for hers. She texted me about a month ago after I had posted asking for a little pick me up from you all and she said “sending all my love”, it was instant perspective and the most beautiful reminder to keep my head up. She was in the most difficult part of her fight but still thought of someone other than herself. I’m so thankful for the opportunity a couple of weeks ago to tell her how much that meant and the impact she’s made on me. For the rest of my life, I will remember her fighting spirit and her encouraging personality. I’ll never forget the last shot of the video I told her “give me that ‘don’t give up smile’” and it was everything. When I first met Emily she was sitting on the practice floor at the UCF gym, she was brand new on the team, I walked up to her introduced myself to her, she said “wanna be friends?” I replied in me fashion… “well that’d be an honor” It really was. You will be missed my sweet friend. #DontEverGiveUp

  2. Tik Tok. I wanted to hate it, I first heard about this app a few years ago and thought to myself “I’m not going to download it”. Well like many people born in the 90’s, last year when the world shut down... I caved.. because there was literally nothing else to do. I remember thinking to myself “how in the heck do some of these videos go viral?” The video I took of my roommate Bronson eating sushi forces me to ask the same question 😅. Here is a wild fun fact though... after adding up all the pages that have shared this ( the ones that I remember ), Bronson enjoying his sushi... minding his own business before I pushed record.. has been seen over 75 million times. I’m not kidding here... Oprah shared it, Jennifer Lopez saw it, ESPN reached out, Barstool ( the hero Dave Portnoy haha ) Jay Shetty, Memezar../ the list goes on and on. So ladies and gentlemen I finally have the answer, the video went viral because.. it was posted. Here’s the thing and I’ve been preaching this to so many of my artist / singer / aspiring actor friends since downloading this silly app, post... post.. post. Post the video of you singing the song that you wrote, post the video of you playing the piano or shredding the guitar... post the demo that you’re wondering if it’d succeed as a single... share your stand up comedy bit... if you have a dream, the opportunity to make it known and get noticed is literally at your finger tips. I’m not really an “I told you so” person, but I’m doing it right now simply because I have so many friends and I know so many people trying to get noticed in music or in their respected areas in the entertainment world and so many people just simply aren’t taking advantage of free marketing and free opportunities. And PLEASE do not get discouraged if the video doesn’t blow up, or if it only gets 100 views.. don’t delete it, leave it up because listen, let’s say you post 20 and none of them go viral & let’s say the 21st does.. people will be happy to find 20 other videos of YOU. What do those 20 videos equal? Content. If at first you don’t succeed... post, post again. I think that’s how the quote goes. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
