  3. San Diego city staff approved a new parking district in downtown during Padres games and other large events that will increase parking meters to $10/HR. The new rates will apply not just to Padres fan but also to downtown workers, restaraunt customers, and anyone enjoying the Gaslamp district during events. The city says this new rate increase is necessary to fill budget gaps, but the city brought in a record tax revenue of $2.1 billion last year. City staff is allowed to increase parking rates as high as $20/HR without additional public input or a vote of the council.

The Grumpy Chef sold me on these flavorful Meat Filled Pita Pockets! 👊🏼 Recipe Makes 8-10 Arayes 🤤 Arayes Ingredients: 3 lbs Ground Beef Pack of Pita Bread 2 Bunches Parsley 4 Garlic Cloves 1/2 White Onion 2 Jalapeños 3 Tbsp Ground Cumin 3 Tbsp Sumac 2 Tbsp Aleppo Pepper 4 Tbsp Paprika 3 Tbsp Salt 3 Tbsp Pepper 4 Tbsp @bearandburtons W Sauce How to: 1. In a food processor or blender add in parsley, garlic, onions, jalapeños, and blend 2. With a paper towel squeeze out as much liquid as you can 3. Add ingredients to the ground beef with Bear & Burtons W Sauce for added flavor and add all the spices listed above 4. Mix all those flavors together and add it to the inside of a pita. 5. On a high heat pan sear the pita on all sides and use chili oil to get some great color (optional) 6. About 2 minutes on all sides making sure the ground beef is cooked through 7. What’s your favorite Middle Eastern dish, and what should we cook up next?! 😮‍💨 🔥 Cooked on the FYR GRILL 🌶️ Heated by FYR RED @fyrstarter Koobideh Ingredients: 3 lbs 80/20 Ground Beef 2 Yellow Onions Pinch of Saffron (Optional) 3 Tbsp Turmeric 4 Tbsp Paprika 3 Tbsp Sumac 2 Tbsp Salt 2 Tbsp Pepper How to make Koobideh: 1. First grate the onions and with a paper towel drain out all the moisture 2. Add onions to the ground beef with Saffron, Turmeric, Paprika, Sumac, Salt, Pepper, and knead it all until well incorporated 3. Using a tennis ball size of meat, dip your hands in warm water, and work the meat around the skewer 4. Using your index and middle finger pinch divots all the way up the Kebab 5. Then put on a rack and in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes 6.   1. As some of you know I was in a deadly car accident two months ago. This has now severely changed mine and my families life. I ended up breaking the left half of my face, skull, wrist, ribs, and pelvis. The biggest injury I received was breaking my neck (C5 and C6) which has since led me to be paralyzed (quadriplegic). Since being told I am paralyzed, I should not be able to move from my neck down. By the Grace of God I have since gained mobility in some areas I shouldn’t be able to move. Most people would see this as a set back in life, have hate, keep asking God why… but I have learned to grow my Faith, learn to forgive, and really appreciate the people who have gone through this journey with me. You saving other people’s life and being the hero was the Shane I always knew. Thank you for giving me another chance at life. The time I had with you was spent full of laughter. Thank you for making your friends become family. You have brought so much light into my life and made so happy. We shared great memories such as going on dates, hanging with friends, hockey games, watching movies, and definitely partying it up! To be loved by you meant non stop happiness, laughter, fulfillment, and most of all feeling secure. My favorite memory with you would be our Sunday morning Church services. These were some notes from the last service we went to together: - Bless someone the way you want to be Blessed. - If you can’t bless, you can’t forgive. - Use what God has done in your life, to help heal others.   3. One year. Wow! This past year was the hardest I’ve ever had to push myself to do more and be better. The road to recovery has not been easy, though I show a lot of the physical battles, trust me, the mental battles are much harder. On and off days of feeling good, feeling ugly, not deserving, useless, blessed, guilty, loved, and many more. To be honest, I didn’t think that within just a year I would have made this much recovery, I genuinely came to terms that I would be in a wheelchair forever. Now I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you Jesus! In the beginning of this trial, I was on a feeding tubes, induced coma, many broken bones, not being able to talk, eat, drink, breathe on my own. Let alone, move a muscle. Finding out I was paralyzed through a doctor, and not a loved one was one of the hardest and very few things that I remember while being in a coma. As I started coming to terms with being in a wheelchair, God said my testimony is not done. Many blessings later as we hit a year, I’ve been able to gain finger function, foot function, leg function. Gaining more mobility back than I ever thought. Thankful to all of you who have been with me within this past year, to see the good and the bad. Happy one year of life to me🤍🥺
