  2. Tucker’s journey with Autism-a peek into our two year journey…so far We are sharing our journey with the hopes that it may help others going through similar situations. We know first hand how a diagnosis like Autism can feel like a major punch in the gut. However, it was through watching and hearing others stories that helped us maneuver our own situation. From getting a diagnosis to figuring out what treatments we would do. We plan to share what has and has not worked for us throughout this process. Currently, Tucker goes to ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy 5 days a week, with occupational therapy and speech therapy added a couple of days in each week. Most recently we did a two week intensive with @dr.joshmadsen @infinityneuromotor to really focus on getting rid of some of his retained primitive reflexes, while also doing light therapy to help with cognitive function and hyperbaric chamber for inflammation/circulation. We will share more on our intensive experience in another post! Thank you to the many that have already given us tremendous support. But what so many of us don’t realize is that behind every amazing vacation are countless hands making it all possible. One saying my parents repeated throughout my entire childhood was, “It takes a village to raise a child.” It’s an old African proverb, and the older I get, the more I realize how true it is. Think about all the people who help shape a child’s life—the grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, friends, neighbors, church family, teachers, babysitters. Every person who shows up with their time, encouragement, wisdom, or willingness to help becomes part of that village. And honestly, I don’t think that ever changes. As families grow, more kids + grandkids are added, spouses join the mix, schedules get fuller, and life gets even messier. The need for a village doesn’t disappear, it only grows. The sad part is that this shouldn’t just be true for my family—it should be true for all of us. But our culture is becoming more and more individualistic. Everything is, “You do you.” “Do what’s best for you.” “Do whatever makes YOU happy…” But what about loving your neighbors? What about serving your family, EVEN when it’s inconvenient? What about stepping in for someone who doesn’t have the capacity to do it alone? What about loving the people who are difficult to love? These clips are just a glimpse of what it takes for our family trips to happen. They remind me that life was never meant to be lived alone! Because what a gift it is to have a village—and what an even greater gift it is to be one for someone else🤍

This is the part of hunting you don’t always see 🤎 I’ve always had SO much respect and gratitude for the animals I’m fortunate enough to harvest, but carrying my baby during this one made the moment hit a little deeper. Lots of people think hunters are cruel and have their opinions but there’s a reason you see hunters get emotional after a harvest. There’s respect behind it. Gratitude behind it.
