This is so sad. 😩😭 Imagine not knowing you’d have the last car ride with your dog and your dog survives the crash without you. 😭 During my drive, I got stopped by a detour as cars were being turned around after a really bad car accident. I noticed this tiny dog with blood on his face that seemed to be confused. It looks as though the dog survived the crash but no one had came to take the dog. I asked the officer and he said they couldn’t take him and couldn’t give me information on the accident so I gave them my info and posted on Pawboost in case relatives look for him. I’ve been comforting and mourning with this dog on our way to the sanctuary. I’m now wrapping up chores so I can go to the ER tonight. It won’t be cheap to go to the vet after hours but my goal is to get him checked out and get pain meds so he can sleep comfortably because when I pick him up he cries sometimes. He’s so tiny and he’ll be by my side if anyone would like to follow his rescue. If anyone can help us get him seen tonight, I’ll be headed there in about an hour and I’ll be there all night because his injuries aren’t as severe as others.   3. Story time! We ran out of dog food and lost power during the TX freeze. The stores closed early and I was stressing trying to figure out how I was gonna strays I’ve feed daily along with our rescues on the absolute coldest night. I was traveling from one location to the next and planned to stop and grab a bag of food on the way to feed dogs at two of our locations and the doors do stores closed in my face. I begged them to let me buy a bag of dog food and I couldn’t. So bought tons of cheeseburgers and since we have fresh eggs our chickens left before they perished, and I decided I was gonna be making scrambled eggs all night for the dogs. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Then something told me to open one of our heavy packages received in the mail that had been left in the bed of my truck and when I opened the frozen Chewy box, it was a bag of dog food and I could not believe it! We rarely receive big bags of dog food in the mail and I Just wanted to thank you whoever you are that sent this to us because you completely saved our night. While we prefer to buy in bulk, This single bag absolutely felt like a miracle.   2. It’s the last day of National Park Week! Honestly, this year’s National Park Week has been a little weird, hasn’t it? It can’t be just me that's having a stir of emotions while looking at everyone's beautiful pictures. . @grizzlybearit and I were supposed to be exploring the Mighty Five in Utah this month. Instead, I’ve spent the past few weeks hiking every digital trail available on Google Arts & Culture, which has actually been pretty awesome! But also just not quite the same. My wanderlust is real right now, and I am oh so anxious to get out and explore these closed up spots once again, when we can. . Until then, I chose to share this ridiculously stunning view, 😍 coming to you from atop Redrock Falls (from August 2019) along the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail in Glacier National Park. . And just one more note. When I get anxious to explore again, I remember these things: . I cannot describe how extraordinarily grateful I am for all the people working tirelessly to get our lives back to normal. I’m also very thankful that so far, my role in all of this has been limited to staying put. . The US is such a beautiful and diverse country!   3. This picture is from Bowman Lake at Glacier National Park. It’s not one of the most popular spots in the park because it takes quite the journey to get there! We traversed some VERY bumpy roads and put at least a few scratches into poor truck-o, but who wouldn’t for the opportunity to ditch the crowds and paddle around this gorgeous lake?! If you’re looking to take a day trip away from the main Going To The Sun road crowd, I highly recommend checking out either Two Medicine or this spot. (Save this post to reference during your next summer Glacier trip!) Also, just a note, the road to the lake is closed during the winter. How to get there (and have an awesome day along the way): Start from the Apgar Visitor Center in the West Glacier area. Travel North up Camas Road. Then take a right on Fork Road. Stop at Home Ranch Bottoms for some BBQ. Then continue on Fork Road until you hit Polebridge Loop. Take a right. Make another stop at Polebridge Mercantile & Bakery for some delicious baked treats or Northern Lights Saloon & Cafe for a drink. After you’ve had all of the tasty delights, get back in your vehicle and continue North on Polebridge Loop up to the Polebridge Ranger Station.   1. We ARE pregnant!! Taylor and I are filled with so much joy and was scared that we would never be able to say these words but God is so good!! We found out that we were pregnant the day after Thanksgiving with a home pregnancy test. I was getting hCG injections which were giving me a false positive but the pink line continued to get lighter until the day after Thanksgiving. The line started to get darker!! I saw the line and told Taylor while sobbing tears of joy. A huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders and knew that our little embryo baby stuck! I then had my first beta test on 12/2 with my hCG levels at 1,900 and a confirmation beta test on 12/5 with hCG levels at 4,556. This just confirmed that we are on the right track and couldn’t be more grateful!! Thank you everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts.   2. We’ve been keeping a little secret from y’all♥️ Taylor and I have been trying to get pregnant for the past year. With Taylor’s cystic fibrosis we have a 2% chance of conceiving naturally. Infertility isn’t easy... this past year has been an emotional roller coaster for us. We have prayed for a miracle but we know God will answer our prayers in a slightly different way. This Tuesday we are going to our first IVF appointment! This first appointment will be a consult with our potential doctor to tell us the process and hopefully an ultrasound and bloodwork to follow.   3. The SECRET is out!🎉 I (Taylor) have been on his clinical trial for a year and a half now and are finally able to share with you guys. Last December I started Trikafta also known as the triple combo. First, I want to say this drug will change the history of CF. For once in my life I look forward to the future and have hope I'll be here for it. The past year of my life has been the best of my life. A year ago today my pfts (lung function) were 53%. Within 3 months they get up to 78%! A number I haven't seen in about 10 years. I just left my doc today and my pfts are still 78%! All year they have stayed there. It's a miracle. I no longer feel like I have CF. Even though it makes me eat like a horse. My weight has not been effected by the drug unfortunately but I am so thankful for my lungs feeling so well. Before I'd have to do 2-3 treatments a day to feel decent. I'd have panic attacks because I was struggling to breathe. I would be in the hospital 1-3 times a year and I was to the point where antibiotics weren't working anymore. I broke down multiple times talking about this and seeing those numbers. It's what we've been praying for all our lives. This is a absolutely amazing day to be alive with CF and I tell myself everyday that I cannot ever forget what it's like to live with CF so I won't ever take it for granted. We've all lost a lot of good people to this disease and we owe it to them to live our best lives humble and grateful. We are always down to answer any questions you all might have.
