She’s our little miracle girl 🤍 Sadly, we lost her sister, Jordan Rose, at just 3 days old. Our hearts will be broken forever, but we take comfort that she went to Heaven peacefully in my arms, holding her daddy’s hand, feeling nothing but pure love.   2. ~2 years ago i wanted to quit medicine - completely. i have wanted to be a physician ever since I was 7 years old, so this realization was quite foundation shifting. I loved medicine. But the system and the business of healthcare was in direct conflict with the actual "care" in healthcare: both for patients and their physicians. For physicians, the system contained a lack of autonomy and the prioritization of volume over value. It created a lack of boundaries between professional and personal time and criticized physicians for not reaching a target that was ever moving and unreachable from the start. The practice of medicine was no longer... beautiful. It was frustrating and filled with inadequate time, moral injury, increasing demands and expectations and dwindling support and transparency. I had personal encounters with physicians, in which I was the patient, that were.. exhausting and disheartening. I remember thinking to myself, "is this what medicine has become? Is this all that healthcare is capable of?" There are not a lot of ways to gain some semblance of control, autonomy and choice as a physician within this current healthcare system. In the reel I describe a few changes that I made, which truly felt like a breath of fresh air. Those changes helped me remember why I went into medicine and also helped me learn how to prioritize myself, professionally. There have been many amazing physicians that have exited the clinical practice of medicine since 2020 and many more plan to leave by 2025.   2. I’ll be damned if my daughter is an American statistic, and I’ll die trying to make sure your babies aren’t a part of that statistic either. Of all high income countries, America leads the WORLD 🌎 in worst chronic disease rates with the lowest life expectancy, which continues to decline. How do we combat this? ⬇️ - a protein forward diet. Start waking up and getting high doses of protein in within 30-60 minutes of waking + 16oz cold water - fiber sources and antioxidants should be the next importance on your plate. Stop blaming your dislike for fruits and vegetables as your reason for not consuming them, learn to cook them in ways that either hide the taste or amplify it. - move your body HOURLY. It doesn’t have to be an hourly walk or workout, but find time, 5-10 minutes to get consistent movement in. It can be done, my people do it at desk jobs, operator jobs, as SAHMs, as business men and women & so much more. - drink your damn water. So much of your body is composed of water; when you’re dehydrated, you’re going to feel low energy, lethargic, brain fog, then you’ll lose speed, strength, stamina, balance, hand eye, coordination, decision making skills. - get outside and get sunlight ☀️ - GET OFF YOUR PHONES BEFORE BED… AND THEN STAY OFF THEM FOR 30+ MINUTES AFTER WAKING. - ask people questions. Tour farms. Learn to cook. Be a beginner and stop being ashamed of it. “I’m a bad cook” or “I can’t cook” is not an excuse, learn. I’ve seen people in far harder circumstances than yours simply begin & change their life. There are little eyes watching & quite frankly there are larger eyes watching that will learn from you, observe you, become motivated by you. Let’s go to work. It’s up to us to fix this statistic, do your part.

  1. 4 things you think are toxic but aren’t 👇🏼 It seems these days people love talking about what’s toxic and what’s not. But what does toxic even mean? The dictionary defines it as “very harmful or unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way.” And while that’s helpful, I find it more useful to look at the origins of the word, which comes from the Greek phrase “toxikon pharmakon”. This translates as “poison for arrows”. I like to keep that energy in mind when thinking about what is REALLY toxic. 1️⃣ Intense conflict A lot of people see intense conflict as toxic. These are the same people who talk about the way things “should be” rather than the way things are. The truth is, though, we are human beings and highly imperfect. Sometimes intense conflict can help move through stuck energy and generational trauma. 📢 It’s judgement and blame that are actually toxic. 💡Remember: if they seem more intense than you, you attracted this situation to yourself or yourself to this situation. Ask yourself: what is it trying to teach you? 2️⃣ When they’re not being their highest self They’re behaving badly. They’re not being who they want to be. But who would they be without your judgment? Just a human being having an experience. 3️⃣ When they need to deal with things now To avoidants, this feels toxic. Your programming is telling you to retreat to their cave. That’s where you feel most safe. 💡The truth is though that dealing with it now is safe too. You will survive. It’s just your nervous system that feels unsafe. It’s not real. 4️⃣ in comments ⚠️ Here are things that are ACTUALLY toxic that seem like they’re not: 👉🏼 Gossiping about the relationship outside the relationship rather than working in the relationship 👉🏼 Blaming them for experiencing intense emotions 👉🏼 Resenting & judging how they are showing up 👉🏼 Going on “breaks” from the relationship as a form of punishment 👉🏼 Labeling someone’s behavior as toxic I hope you can see where you’ve been being toxic, so that you can see what life is like when you release that energy and show up as the most loving and compassionate version of you. Most people aren’t people you’d really want to take advice from. They’re projecting their own fears, insecurities, scarcity mindset, and limiting beliefs onto you. Here’s a simple way of checking in with YOURSELF: 1️⃣ You’re in love with who YOU are around them 🗣️ People tend to think that when you’re in a relationship with someone, it’s the qualities about them that matter. Are they kind, smart, hardworking? But the truth is none of that really matters. In my relationship now, the way we like to give and receive love is completely aligned. Sure, it absolutely requires effort, but it doesn’t feel like a job. 💡 Takeaway: there is someone out there who wants to love you in the way you want to receive it, and wants to receive it in the ways you want to give it. 3️⃣ You’re able to forgive each other 🗣️ This may be one of the most important factors. If you are with someone who has the capacity to trigger you, there will be times where they press on an unresolved wound of yours. Why they do this is because they have some unresolved wounds themselves. ✨ This is okay. You’re both human beings. You’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to show up not exactly how you want to in every moment. This is the beauty of living an expansive life. 💡Takeaway: Forgive, and forgive fully. I love you and wish you all the magic the universe has to offer.

  3. ‼️here’s why👇🏼 not even with any of the ridiculous eclipse viewing glasses you bought!! lol 🌞🌝throughout history solar eclipses were a time where everyone STAYED INSIDE, boarded up windows/ closed curtains, covered mirrors, meditated, and fasted!! this was NOT a time to be outside and look at the sun! some cultures believed that eclipses were omens, signs of impending disaster, or could bring bad luck, so precautions were followed. In addition to ancient traditions, Sadhuguru talks a lot about fasting during the solar eclipse as the energetics are SO strong that there can be molecular changes to our food which may cause food to be harmful or even poisonous to you.   1. I never updated instagram but…. We’re moving on to IVF! Our almost 3 year journey so far has been a rollercoaster of constant hope and excitement and then heartbreak and disappointment on repeat, even when things seemed to be going perfectly. We finally have a plan, and it feels SO good! Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful we feel to have not only seen a little baby measuring right on track at our 7 week ultrasound today, but also a strong, flickering heartbeat at 120 beats per minute 😭 This is a HUGE milestone for us, as my first pregnancy was two blighted ovums, and my second was a complete molar pregnancy in which an embryo never formed. We’ve never seen a baby before, let alone a heartbeat. I could not be more proud or humbled to be the mama of this little miracle seedling 🤍🌈 Keep growing little one, we’ll see you again next week!

  3. Little seedling is measuring spot on 8 weeks today with a healthy heart rate of 156bpm. I could not believe how much bigger they grew in just one week! Today we were able to see the umbilical cord and spine forming. During this week the baby has hands, feet, lips, eyelids, and a nose. It is truly unbelievable to me how much development occurs in the first trimester, and baffles me that we don’t celebrate it more, since most people wait until the second trimester to announce. After this past year of experiencing everything going wrong and the unknowns of if I would ever be able to create or carry a baby again, I am truly astonished to witness my body nurturing this baby and allowing it to grow just as it’s supposed to. Every day truly feels like a dream. Thank you all for your continued support, you have no idea how much it means to us that this little one is loved by so many already 💜🌈

  2. 1. No continuous fetal monitoring 🚫 This one really sends people. I opted for intermittent monitoring so I could move around. Sorry I didn’t want to be strapped to a bed and machine while I’m laboring. If your hospital has a travel monitor that could be a great option too (mine did not). 2. No laying on my back for labor 🤚 This was actually made the norm in the United States to make it easier FOR DOCTORS. Not for you!! How wild is that?? The most unnatural position to give birth in EVER!! Can you imagine trying to go poop and someone says lay on your back?!? No ma’am. Ain’t happening. Do what feels best TO YOU. 3. No epidural 💉 No I don’t want a trophy Karen but I do think if more women knew the real side effects of an epidural for mom and for baby - they would not be as popular (and big pharma would not be making as much money) 4. No I don’t want you to bathe my baby 🛁 Babies are born with their protective coating ON PURPOSE. God makes no mistakes. Also giving you my baby to go take and bathe yourself??? Absolutely not. Smell your baby and never bathe them is my thought on it. 5. No I don’t want you to swaddle my baby 🙅🏻‍♀️ I want my baby on top of me and on my boob every single second, the moment they are born. FOR WEEKS. Skin to skin with me or skin to skin with hubby. What you choose to do after that is on you but while your baby is adjusting to this world nothing makes them feel safer or releases more oxytocin than being skin to skin with their mama. This also does wonders for establishing breastfeeding. Were there any things you declined that people didn’t understand?! Breastfeeding is demanding and especially in the first few weeks when I feel like that’s all I’m doing. •Feeling guilty that I’m not giving my other children time or keeping the house together. •just failing as a mother! •On the other side I’m in love with all the bonding time I’m getting with Ivy Reign and soaking up all the down time and healing my body needs.
