  2. As some of you know, last year I wrote a thesis on psychiatric abuse against women of color in the 1960s-1970s. In writing it, I did a lot of research on the history of anti-Blackness within psychiatry and the ways it has impacted the diagnoses and treatments Black Americans have received over time. Racism has long been embedded within the discipline of psychiatry and still remains today. These slides contain only a small fraction of the structural injustices committed against Black Americans. I would recommend also doing your own in-depth research on the topic as there is much to learn about. I hope all my non-Black followers take the time to read through this information and remember the names of mentally ill Black Americans who were murdered by the police. #blacklivesmatter
