The renaissance inspired sleeves give it an air of romance, but it’s not quite as femme as the version with the ruffle.   1. have been a big fan of making various barks lately - ok i’ve tried two lol, cookie dough bark and strawb/pb/chocolate bark, but i loveddd em and have made them both a handful of times, so i obviously had to try the snickers bark that all the kids are making and it did nottttt disappoint. salty, sweet, crunchy, chewy - it is insaaaane. didn’t taste exactly like a snickers, bc you’re missing the best part which is obviously nougat. but it is veryyyy good. it’s real simple: pit and cut dates in half, smush em on a baking sheet lined w wax paper or parchment paper, spread some drizzly peanut butter over (costco brand is my fav), separately melt a cup of choc chips with a lil spoonful of coconut oil and some vanilla bean paste, spread chocolate on and sprinkle w flaky salt! i froze it for like an hour and chopped it up and am keeping it in a container in the fridge!

  1. The Rosemary Robe Inspired by 1850s women’s dressing gowns, this beautiful beast of a robe is finally finished, I think. I may add some more ruffles to the sleeves. I spent a long time at my kitchen table making this and looking at the rosemary plant across the table from me, I would rub the leaves between my fingers and while I was sewing I would get hints of the scent. Details! Self drafted pattern, 20 yards of second hand dead-stock cotton, 25 antique shell buttons, every edge roll-hemmed and/or French seamed, probably around 50 hours of machine stitching and 10 more of hand stitching.   2. I will take any excuse I can get to dress up like a princess! My friends and I were going to go to sword fighting at banded brewing last night but there were too many other lads and lasses who also craved violence. I think that means we need more sword fighting events 😁 I made this dress for Halloween last year and made a matching henin but it makes me so tall where I have to do the limbo to get through doors! I opted for my escoffion I made to match my vaguely 16th century yellow dress. For this project I looked at primary sources for women’s fashion in the early 15th century, I loved the long opulent sleeves and the silhouette of popular court dresses in the 1410s-1430s in France. I made a chemise out of a sheer cotton gauze, and used the same self drafted pattern for the gown but added shaping though the back lacing. Lots of hand sewing for the lace up closure along the back and lots of piecing my material because I didn’t have lots of yardage. As the kids say, piecing is period! Obviously this look isn’t very historically accurate, but I don’t live in 1420 so I can do what I want 😗

WELP this post has a ton of text but hopefully you all can find this info useful! 💗 It’s not a perfect system, but I think it’s a huge improvement from a single fit that’s actually graded on a women’s size chart only! (Or what some folks do *I believe*, say a design is “unisex” by using a men’s sizing chart instead!) There’s a lot of complexities surrounding this, but this is the method I’ve found best so far to make my designs more inclusive.   1. Forever dreaming about this day 🤍💍✨ I’ll never get tired of talking about my veil and everything that went into our wedding! Knit in 100% cashmere (nigh fine by @purlsoho ), my veil, sleeves and the bouquet ribbon were the perfect set made to elevate my dress. It was the perfect fiber for a special occasion on a spring day 🤍 And talk about a color match!! Knitting this Shetland lace veil was such an amazing and memorable way to show my commitment. Words aren’t my strong suit but I can show that I care in my own way. Thank you @iankimstudio for capturing all of these precious moments!

  2. 🪼 The Jelly Top 🪼 [The Jelly Top pattern is now available! Link in bio 🥳] I am so excited to finally share this project!! After months of trial and error (lots of error), this top has finally come to life 🥹💚 This texture reminds me of Jellyfish, hence the name. I bought this yarn last year at Flock festival in Seattle. It’s @oshenknitsandfibres Silk Mohair in the color Golden Kelp. The pattern is still in development - I’ll be looking for testers mid September 😉

  3. I’m knitting 3 pieces for my wedding outfit in 3 months! Week 7✨ This week was tough 😭 working on the veil feels like such a slog and the cardigan didn’t turn out the way that I wanted it to (my fault, not the pattern). I found an alternate outfit for the courthouse wedding next week and I swatched for the next piece in the series so hopefully this week I can get back on track!! Wish me luck! Pressure is on with only 5 weeks left before the big day 💞 Pattern for the veil is the 18 ring semicircular veil by @toshiyuki_shimada Bolero is the long sleeve retro bolero by handmade by Fasola on Ravelry Yarn for both is the Nigh Fine by @purlsoho
