This is so sad. 😩😭 Imagine not knowing you’d have the last car ride with your dog and your dog survives the crash without you. 😭 During my drive, I got stopped by a detour as cars were being turned around after a really bad car accident. I noticed this tiny dog with blood on his face that seemed to be confused. It looks as though the dog survived the crash but no one had came to take the dog. I asked the officer and he said they couldn’t take him and couldn’t give me information on the accident so I gave them my info and posted on Pawboost in case relatives look for him. I’ve been comforting and mourning with this dog on our way to the sanctuary. I’m now wrapping up chores so I can go to the ER tonight. It won’t be cheap to go to the vet after hours but my goal is to get him checked out and get pain meds so he can sleep comfortably because when I pick him up he cries sometimes. He’s so tiny and he’ll be by my side if anyone would like to follow his rescue. If anyone can help us get him seen tonight, I’ll be headed there in about an hour and I’ll be there all night because his injuries aren’t as severe as others.   3. Story time! We ran out of dog food and lost power during the TX freeze. The stores closed early and I was stressing trying to figure out how I was gonna strays I’ve feed daily along with our rescues on the absolute coldest night. I was traveling from one location to the next and planned to stop and grab a bag of food on the way to feed dogs at two of our locations and the doors do stores closed in my face. I begged them to let me buy a bag of dog food and I couldn’t. So bought tons of cheeseburgers and since we have fresh eggs our chickens left before they perished, and I decided I was gonna be making scrambled eggs all night for the dogs. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Then something told me to open one of our heavy packages received in the mail that had been left in the bed of my truck and when I opened the frozen Chewy box, it was a bag of dog food and I could not believe it! We rarely receive big bags of dog food in the mail and I Just wanted to thank you whoever you are that sent this to us because you completely saved our night. While we prefer to buy in bulk, This single bag absolutely felt like a miracle.   2. Our Little Miracle is here.On August 3rd, I experienced a mild episode of pregnancy bleeding before my scheduled photoshoot. Consequently, I had to cancel the makeup session and urgently rush to the hospital. After an examination, the Dr informed me that the amniotic sac’s outer layer was coming off, but there was no opening yet. Fortunately, there was no pain when I returned home, so I took a leisurely walk in a nearby park.Later that night, around 2 hours apart, I began to experience contraction pain. Since my water hadn’t broken, I wasn’t overly concerned. The next day, despite the canceled shoot, I decided to proceed with the photoshoot that was originally planned from 6 AM to 6 PM. As I completed the makeup for the models,the contractions intensified, occurring every 5 minutes. I realized it was time.I hastily packed my belongings, said a prayer, and headed to the hospital. After being admitted, the doctor informed me that I had dilated 1 cm. Thankfully, the baby was in good health, and a normal delivery was possible. I patiently waited for the dilation to progress to 7 cm. Uncharacteristically, I’m not someone who usually experiences period cramps, so when the contractions intensified, I found the pain unbearable.Around 3 am, my water broke, and I was moved into the delivery room. Despite requesting an epidural, I was informed that the epidural had worn off. With no other option, I was given laughing gas and a regular painkiller. Doubts swirled in my mind about whether I could endure this process. However, with determination, I began to push. 5 August 2023 At 12pm, I successfully delivered my son. The moment was overflowing with indescribable joy; words cannot capture the happiness I felt.I want to express my gratitude to my family, friends, and yoga instructor for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout this journey toward a normal delivery. Their motivation played a crucial role in my quick recovery. I am immensely proud of myself for achieving this without an epidural, and now I proudly introduce my beautiful son, weighing 2.8 kg. Both of us are in excellent health, marking the end of this incredible chapter and starting of motherhood

  1. There’s no such thing as a “free return”. Obviously there’s a cost to getting a returned item ready for resale: to ship it back, check it out, repackage and restock. It’s just a question of who is paying it. If we - the buyers – aren’t paying, then that’s on the seller. And more times than you’d like to believe, those sellers say to hell with it, it’s not worth it – and just destroy the item and throw it out. You read that right. Brand new stuff getting destroyed (so it can’t be resold by someone else) and getting dumped into landfill. If that sounds like a huge environmental problem, that’s because it is. They’re passing the cost of the return back on all of us all by dumping more unwanted trash, dangerous chemicals and toxic minerals and forever plastic on our struggling planet. In 2024 alone, 8.4 billion pounds of returns ended up in landfills. But it’s apparently still worth it to online sellers to tempt us to buy whatever, whenever, without a thought. Amazon especially has trained us to expect free returns and has made overbuying and over-returning the norm. So let’s train ourselves instead. Let’s pause before we hit that “Buy Now” button and remember that once we do, the responsibility for where it ends up is now ours. Let’s take a breath and decide if we really need the item. If so, well, there’s a good chance it already exists out there, so I’ll always first look for it used: on my local Buy Nothing group or Nextdoor, browsing Ebay or Etsy or GoodwillOnline, and hitting up local thrift shops. If I can’t find it used, I’ll buy it from a business – local or online – that I believe will put it back on the shelf if I return it. Once it’s in our cart, it’s our responsibility — so if we wouldn’t trash it in our own backyard (for our kids and grandkids to deal with down the road), we shouldn’t be rushing to buy it.   2. My Hoshigaki obsession was not born of an interest in obscure Japanese delicacies. Like my blackberry jam tradition, it was a result of my plants bearing way more fruit than I could possibly eat or even give away. The Hachiya  persimmon tree I planted 25 years ago is now 20 ft tall, bears hundreds of enormous fruits that are inedible unless super soft, and frankly, there’s only so many mushy persimmons you can eat.   10 years ago, I mentioned this to my dear 90 year old Uncle Danny Berger and his son Saul, and they said that they dried the fruit from their tree in Philadelphia. Voila! So the next fall, I made my first batch and fell in love. It’s very labor intensive, make no mistake, but it is also very meditative. And of course, the practice of using whatever nature gives me, and then being able to enjoy it months past its season is deeply satisfying. So arigato to the culture that came up with hoshigaki, and to my Uncle for passing it on to me. His spirit sweetens each one.  #persimmon #driedfruit

  3. 4 BILLION Starbucks hot cups end up incinerated or in landfill every year. Because all “paper” hot cups are actually lined with plastic they can’t be recycled or composted. But ask a Starbucks barista how to dispose of your coffee cup (I did) and chances are they’ll tell you to recycle it (they did). And some of their in-store bins even say the same thing. This is NOT OK. If Starbucks really plans to “reduce waste by 50% by 2030”, they need to: -Be honest with customers about the trash they’re helping create -Truly incentivize use of personal reusable cups, and - Offer ceramic and glass for in-store use. 🔗 Let’s help make this happen by signing the petition on the @plasticpollutes profile link, calling on @starbucks to “Build a Better (Reusable) Cup” by prominently and consistently promoting, activating, and incentivizing its reusable cup program. If Starbucks can sell an apple crisp oatmilk crème cappuccino, THIS should be a no-brainer.

All of us will have individual needs, but we all use movement, strengthening, rest, electrolytes and external supports as needed. We often see Hypermobility/Dysauronomia/MCAS together, but not always! It can be overwhelming putting the pieces together, especially if you don’t meet all the criteria on the Beighton Score. It doesn’t capture everything, even if it’s all your doc learned in school. You’re not alone! Happy HSD/hEDS awareness month!

  1. Remember that RV that we bought? Well I spent the last week renovating it. ☺️💕 what’d y’all think? Lord have mercy was this such a fun experience, except for the paint in my hair and being up to my elbows in mass amounts of wallpaper! It’s finally done, and decorated, and is our home for the next month, while we move forward with finding our forever home! 💕✨ this is a big jump for us. We’ve down sized 3000 square ft into 26 square ft. And thrown all of our stuff in storage and are making moves for our life in a really incredible way. While we did love our home. We were pushed to break our lease for the home we were in. Because as of the past two weeks after the first real rain of the season, being as old as the home was (and unfortunately neglected as it was by the owners) the water damage was too much for it to take. And apparently nothing can be done. So my little family and I were forced to make a decision. So here we are taking life by the cookies and making an adventure out of it. Not only are we learning what it really means to live minimalistic but we are taking a new approach to life. Living simply. I could be upset about the cards we were dealt. But you really have no idea how excited I am to add living in a 1984 camper with my family to my list of life experiences.   3. @kelseycorrea out did herself AGAIN☺️ front porch project, a year later. We may temporarily be in our camper. But we are still making all the moves we want for our life and enjoying every bit of time spent together. Especially living in such close quarters amiright? But in all seriousness. Feeling really content in knowing that including my bonus baby, (not pictured) I get to spend the rest of my days with these magnificent humans. Realizing that the universe alongside my angels, ancestors, and spirit guides have brought me all I’ve ever wanted. All I’ve ever needed. And they are still providing. This has been a humbling experience. But one I didn’t realize I needed. So many things you take for granted on the daily, and having most of those minor luxuries taken from you. The universe said hey, here is an ego death. Time to grow. And learn to appreciate everything you have in front of you. including yourself. Focus more, material things DONT MATTER. Proving you have cool stuff doesn’t matter. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone except yourself. My family matters. My mental health matters. My heart matters. I hope you all have a great day, and take a second to take a deep breath in and realize you’re alive. And living and it’s never to late to make decisions on how you live your life. For me? I’m thanking my lucky stars for all I have. And all that I will have in the future. Thankful to be able to guest spot at a wonderful shop, to have a SAFE roof over our head and successful business ventures ! I love you guys💕✨also @lowtidewade face always ends up in my boobs. Lol

Like that one time he left for work and I thought I’d redo my grandmas old hutch. I pulled it away from the wall in the garage and it completely fell apart. 🙈 Apparently the glue had failed. So I called Charlie to ask how to use those ratchet straps to attempt to put it back together. Big red flag 🤪. • Charlie rescued me (and my grandmas hutch) and turned it into a beautiful piece of furniture that will last a few more generations. • Today’s project is definitely pretty harmless, but nonetheless, when he walked in the door and caught me I totally felt like I got caught doing drugs.
