  1. Well there’s a new design on my needles! I’m having so much fun watching this pattern emerge. The yarn I’m knitting with is @wishboneyarn Flax Flower worsted and there will be a test knitting call very soon. I’m so excited to be back after a big break! Unfortunately I needed to take a lot of time off this year due to my health. For a big portion of 2020 I felt unwell, yet continued to work. In 2021 I was finally diagnosed with Lyme, but by then it had done a lot of damage, so it’s taken a while to heal. I needed to simplify as much as possible so I could recover. Thank you so much for your support during a really challenging time in my life - I’m so grateful to have been able to slow down and put myself first. I’m feeling a lot better now, and look forward to sharing many more designs in the years to come!💛

  1. I’ve received so many questions about the tweed yarn that I used for my #sweaterno25 that I thought that I would provide some more info about it. The reason I bought it in the first place was because I fell in love with the colour and the price was very reasonable. The downside of knitting with it was that it was quite tough on my hands due to the stiffness of the yarn. Before blocking, the sweater looked crazy because it was so stiff! The tweed yarn also tangled together with the mohair strand so I had to keep them in different baskets while knitting. The yarn is spun in Donegal and retains a little bit of oil from the spinning process. It’s recommended to wash it more than once and I had to wash it three times before I was happy with how it looked and felt. The first two times I washed it the water turned a grey-brownish colour. After three washes, it’s like a completely different yarn. So soft and comfy to wear 🤗 #knittersofinstagram #nevernotknitting #knitspiration #slowfashion #knit #knitting #knitwear #strikk #strik

  3. 2025 recap ✨💕🎀 read for some real talk: 2025 was a strange year. I struggled a lot & I felt SO lost at times. So much anxiety, an overwhelming feeling of failure. Despite all the hardship, I believe everything happens for a reason & I'm convinced I will look back at this year one day and I'll be proud of myself & I'll understand why things had to happen this way. I feel a lot more at peace now compared to a few months ago, which is already a massive win. I'm very grateful for my family this year, my parents have been super supportive and understanding! and i'm super grateful for my friends who carry me through the hardest moments in life! and of course, my boyfriend noah who's always there for me and supports me in every way & makes me feel like I can achieve anything I'm still clinging to one of my favourite quotes: when you're lost in the darkness, look for the light ✨ I'm always looking for the light, especially in 2026!

Here are some details and insights about the top I created for my domestika course: 1: This is what the front motif looks like: It combines rather plain cotton with fuzzy alpaca yarn. 2: I prepared the top several times to show it off in different stages when filming. After filming I unravelled a few of these beginnings, which I am now using for the new motif of my Intarsia Top knitting pattern. 3: The top is inspired by the wind, the dunes and the beachgrass at the North Sea. I captured the atmosphere with an abstract paper collage and translated the illustration into a colour chart for knitting. 4: My favourite feature: You can design your very own knit top, inspired by your own motif, by filling out the empty chart. 5: Take a look at your stash and get creative with your yarns by combining different colours and fibres! 6: This is how my moodboard looked like in November 2021 when we filmed the course. I took it off the wall of my studio and took it with me in the train to Berlin – which caught quite some eyes. 6: When filming the course, I knitted quite a few rows, to get to a new point in the pattern and to create lots of material for the video. Sometimes just a little bit of Fair Isle is all you need… Here is a lovely 1940s knitting pattern by Marriner’s, which makes the most of a contrast yoke by adding a band of leafy Fair Isle for accent. It’s not much Fair Isle, but they made it count ! The collar is my little addition to this pattern, whose sleeves are just the best! When the 1940s meets Victorian…with a touch of 1930s drama By special request I’ve created this jacket with cables, a peplum, and the specific sleeves from the 1930s pattern for “Annie’s Jacket” in my book … the ones that stand up with a life of their own ! I drew a on 4 different vintage patterns to create the jacket and hand knitted in a modern 4 ply. Those sleeves especially have an elaborate draping at the shoulder that requires extra volume (= extra knitting 😊) and those borders may look inoffensive but if you’ve knitted with moss stitch you know it just…never…grows…😯 So I’m delighted to say the jacket is now complete ! #knittingvintage #knitvintage #knittingdesigner #vintageknit #vintageknitting #vintageknittinginspiration #vintageknitters #vintageknitter #vintageknittersofinstagram #1940sstyle

  1. 🌼 #todaysknitoutfit featuring the #anoukatank 🌼 Summer’s in full swing, and I couldn’t ask for more sophisticated knitted vibes. Anouka was my first #intarsia knitted piece ever and it was quite the ride! I admit I was overwhelmed when I first looked at all the color work charts. I also had no idea how to neatly divide out the yarns for each chart, but after a few reads through the written pattern, everything started to click. And after I found the perfect, ever-so-convenient no-tangle thread bobbins to organize all my separate yarns into (swipe to see them!), it was smooth sailing from there! I had these colorways in Loft sitting in my stash since the COVID quarantine, so I was happy to use this #testknit as a stash-busting project. I began with a center panel that featured the light yellow and gray color ways, but after knitting a few inches of the color work, I realized this was all wrong, and decided to make the hayloft yellow and red color ways the centerpiece.   2. My latest #workinprogress — #stagheadpullover no. 2 🦌💐 I am so excited to finally share my current WIP with you all! I previously made my first Stag Head Pullover back in 2019 but found that I never wore it because I made it with white yarn and was afraid of getting it dirty, and I made it a bit long for my taste. I ended up giving it to my aunt who lives in Seoul, Korea a couple of years ago because I genuinely wanted it to be worn and loved (Swipe ➡️ to see photos of Stag Head no. 1). However, whenever I thought back to this sweater, I missed it so much and felt sad that I gave it away—it’s such a special design! So I decided it was finally time to make my second Stag Head. This time around, I made some major changes after my first experience. I decided to omit the waist shaping and make it a little shorter so that it wouldn’t be as warm and feel so bulky when worn with all of my pants. I knew I would lose momentum if I knit the front and back pieces separately, so I modified the pattern to be knit in the round. I also decided to use @brooklyntweed ‘s Shelter yarn as I know this yarn provides incredible structure to cables. I initially was going to go with a darker foresty green (Yellowstone) I had in my stash, but ultimately pivoted to the golden Hayloft so as to accentuate the cables more. Now all that’s left to knit are the sleeves! I am so, so happy to revisit @norahgn ‘s extraordinary design. Though it is an immense labor of love, it is absolutely worth all of the effort.   3. Trying on my #SPARKS_SWEATER test knit—and it’s a success! ✨ Happy #FairIsleFriday, friends! I’m excited to share an update on this stunning #testknit designed by @breielaar (I still can’t show full photos of the WIP yet, so bear with me ❤️). I just split the body and sleeves a day ago and finally had a chance to dive into some relaxing stockinette last night. The colorwork yoke isn’t blocked yet, so it’s still a little bumpy, but we all know the magic of wet-blocking—it’s going to transform into a beautifully smooth masterpiece! I’m considering sharing a before-and-after blocking video to show the difference. What do you think? This sweater is wonderfully oversized, just as I’d hoped. While the photo doesn’t capture it fully, the yoke is longer and ends about 2.5” above my navel, giving it that bold, statement look I love. After wet-blocking, it’ll likely grow even more! When I’ve put so much effort into the yoke, I want it to be as extravagant and eye-catching as possible—no small yokes for me! And can we talk about the thoughtful design details? The highlight around the collar and the pops of color in the three-color rows make this piece truly shine. It’s an absolute stunner, and the pattern will be released in about a month and a half to celebrate @pru_yarns gorgeous new DK weight yarn line.   1. KLEUR is the name of the new #shawl #knittingpattern that I’m excited to share with you to celebrate the start of 2019. ‘Kleur’ translates to ‘colour’ (from Dutch to English). The Quarter Wheel and Spines sections are #knitted in a striking spectrum of #naturaldyedyarn by @woollenflower (for which you can pop over to her shop for kits). The #natural #undyed black, white and grey are #garthenorronas from @garthenor, used for the Mitre Stripes (black and white) and External Curve (grey). My thanks also go to @muirandco for #knitting this sample for me. To @roseewoodland - our design-brains work in such different ways, it becomes a fascinating collaboration to work with her as a #techeditor. To @jenireid for the lush photos of @mmknitter modelling in her overalls on her allotment - they are what I’d dreamed of. Even @emmaknitsthings was there for styling help. Both @josefinast and @ladyrowena test #knitted, and Kristin also laid the pattern out. I’m so thrilled by how the unusual construction unfolds in this #garterstitch shawl.   3. ROW/ROUND - after yesterday’s frogging, the bottom edge is getting and extra 3cm of #corrugatedribbing and a 2-row/round striped #icordbindoff. So far it seems to not be flipping up at all, which is good news. I’m never sure whether I want to call it a row or round when it comes to #icord, so I tend go with row/round. It’s #knitted as a row, but makes a round. In any case, I’m enjoying the ‘yucky’ combination of auburn and dirty dirty yellow.
